22.01.2022 Ricky explains the process - This week sequence got turned around. First do the surface tension drawing then proceed to final. Helen, the teacher, is getting students to display volume with the surface tension. I learned this at Julian Ashton’s as mummification lines. Like drawing the bandages on a mummy! It’s great to retrace things I’ve learned before. Appreciating much more the why and what you can do with it. Appropriate as can use with pastels.

15.01.2022 If you have taken to your bed for the duration, here's something else you can do. Salvador Dali experimenting with projections in New York This photo of surrealist painter Salvador Dali shot by prominent LIFE magazine photographer Philippe Halsman, and on show at Jeu De Paume in Paris until January 2016, was part of a long-term creative collaboration between the two artists that resulted in shots like the famous Atomicus, where Dali and his surroundings (including three cats) are suspended in air. In this image, most likely shot in the St Regis hotel where Dali often resided in New York, the artist can be seen experimenting with projections on dirty paper to stimulate his inspiration.

Our Government’s $20 million in support for the Arts now includes: $10.5 million rapid initial response More support for Queensland’s major Arts institutions and companies stART grants for independent artists Alarmingly, many artists are facing uncertainty as they are ineligible for the Federal Government’s JobKeeper package. I will say it again, the Federal Treasurer, Josh Frydenberg, can fix this with the stroke of a pen, to help support the struggling sector.
