24.01.2022 Look at the creativity in our Stage 5 Art class today! Students are encouraged to be creative and expressive in Art classes at NGC. Today students created a piece of their own choosing, some used stencils, others used a traditional dot work style. Art has become one of our favourite subjects with students looking forward to their weekly Art classes. We look forward to seeing the masterpieces soon Stage 5!
24.01.2022 Today our students made the trip down to Sydney to visit TARONGA ZOO! Stage 5 students continued their investigation into Palm Oil and participated in an interactive talk with keepers at the Zoo. Students learnt about everyday items which contain palm oil, the negative effects of palm oil farming and what can be done to improve the situation. Science learnt about ecosystems and sustainability, while PVDI took photos for a photography documentary competition- what a busy day!... As we celebrate NAIDOC week, students watched the seal and bird show which included special Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander themes. Aboriginal presenters were on stage with the bird show keepers during the amazing show highlighting the significant links that birds have with our indigenous cultures. Thanks to Taronga Zoo Sydney for an amazing day.
23.01.2022 Ngaliya a new Cultural Connections program by the Indigenous Justice Program at RYSS. Last week our NG students graduated the program leaving with skills in job readiness, healthy living, drug and alcohol education and preparing for their L's and P's driver tests. ... Congratulations to all the students that graduated!
22.01.2022 Our students love any opportunity to play sport and get outdoors, so it was no surprise that they enjoyed the amazing weather this week! With so many great spots like Umina Beach and local swimming holes only a short drive from our school, our students get to experience the big, wide world beyond their screens! The result is a genuine love of adventure and the great outdoors, which is fantastic to see. We look forward to seeing more outdoor adventures in Term 4 as the weather... warms up. To find out what else our students are getting up to this term, check out our school newsletter online. https://www.ngc.nsw.edu.au/community
21.01.2022 Have you heard about the NDIS? The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is a scheme of the Australian Government that funds costs associated with disability. Yesterday, NGC hosted an information session with representatives from ARC (Aftercare Resource Centre), RYSS (Regional Youth Support) and Central Coast Primary Care. ... The scheme entitles people with a "permanent and significant" disability (under the age of 65), to full funding for any "reasonable and necessary" support needs related to their disability. If you would like more information about the NDIS please call our amazing Case Manager Lee on 4343 5000.
17.01.2022 What an incredible farewell to our Year 12 class of 2020. As our small school has continued to grow over the years, you’d assume that saying goodbye to our graduates gets easier each time September rolls around. Spoiler alert: It doesn’t. But the pride we feel never diminishes either. And we are SO incredibly proud of these young people. ... They have shown such resilience, persistence and dedication. They have worked tirelessly towards a goal that they previously never thought possible. They have overcome challenges, achieved tremendous successes and formed friendships that will last long after they leave NGC. We know that they have so much to offer the world and we can’t wait to see how they use their strengths to make it a better, more beautiful place. Congratulations Year 12 - you did it! PS: A big thank you to Jaidyn and Sharnae who performed on the piano and sang a beautiful song to commemorate the occasion, and to Gavi Duncan for conducting the smoking ceremony that preceded yeaterday’s graduation.
17.01.2022 Congratulations to our graduating class of 2020!

10.01.2022 Swinging into the weekend with Stage 5 PDHPE and Stage 6 PVDI! There’s never a dull moment in our PDHPE class. Today students visited Ettalong to practice their fishing skills (some were even successful at catching a fish!). Excursions are always a favourite part of our practical PVDI classes, especially when we get out in nature. Today was a great opportunity to capture the fun!... At NGC we believe it is important to get outdoors and learn, especially when we have such beautiful locations so close to our school.
06.01.2022 Stage 5 History students have been hard at work creating their artworks for the 'Making a Nation' unit. Students have been learning about the events that took place during the European settlement and looking at perspectives and experiences of non-European’s in Australia prior to 1900’s. Students enjoyed the creativity in this unit and will display their artworks in the classroom.

03.01.2022 Congratulations to our very own year 12 student, Jasmine! Winner of the Young People's Choice Award at the local Mental Health Art Works! Exhibition at Gosford Regional Art Gallery. Mental Health Art Works! is an art exhibition with a difference. It provides people whose lives have been affected by mental illness the opportunity to use art as a form of expression and engages the community in a better understanding of mental health issues. Jasmine’s artwork titled- 'Life on s...ocial media as a teen' was created with a close friend in mind. Jasmine’s artwork expressed the constant comparisons on social media and the battles young people face daily. You can visit Jasmine’s artwork and the other amazing pieces until Tuesday 20th October at the Gallery. #mentalhealthartworks Central Coast Primary Care
