24.01.2022 Nhill, Victoria Ho! Ho! Ho! Tomorrow is the day! (Sunday 17th November 2019)... Our NHILL LIONS COMMUNITY CHRISTMAS MARKET is happening! ^_^ Be part of our last Market for the year and enjoy all that this Market has to offer. I reckon there are some great Christmas gifts among the stalls just waiting to be bought. Not only will we have great stalls but we will have Sing Australia and the Nhill Dimboola Band there to entertain us and of course great coffee, donuts and our Nhill Lions BBQ. But that is not all, the Nhill CFA Fire truck will be there for everyone to have a look at as well as the girls from the Community Engagement Unit who will be able to answer a lot of your questions on being fire ready. Even Captain Koala may be there too! We all know that in N.S.W. and Queensland there are some pretty horrific fires happening at the moment. Our Club will be raising funds at the Market gates to donate to the Australian Lions Bushfire Appeal, so if you can, give generously <3 COME JOIN US!! Lions across t...he country have been out in full force in their communities this week. And when disaster strikes, the Australian Lions Foundation is focused on getting emergency support to communities in need as quickly as possible. 22.01.2022 Nhill, Victoria Hi Everyone! Only a week and a bit to go until the NHILL LIONS COMMUNITY MARKET is on!... And we are lucky to have the BIG RED BUS (also known as Seriously Crazy) join us! If you are into any sort of sewing; patchwork, embroidery and quilting then the Nhill Lions Community Market is the place for you to be on Sunday the 15th March 2020. The Big Red Bus is the best patchwork and embroidery shop on the road! Marg and Colin have a wealth of knowledge as well as over 1200 fabrics, a large selection of kits, various ribbons and threads; a very large selections of panels, hundreds of patterns and buttons - in fact its unbelievable how they fit so much into the Big Red Bus! But the Big Red Bus is not the only good thing to be happening at the Market. We will have some other new Stall Holders join us too as well as our regular Stall Holders (who are the back bone of our Market). There will be Hand Embroidered Bags, Hand Knitted Beanies, Pet Bedding, Coats and Treats, Tupperware, Crystals and Salt Lamps, Olive Oil, Honey, Fresh Roasted Peanut Butter, Scrapbooking Supplies, Rawleighs, Candles, Wooden Roses (yes, you read right, wooden roses), Jewellery, Cheese Boards, Plants, Vegies, Snuggle Rugs, Nuts, German Mettwurstthe list goes on and on! And thats not all. We are celebrating St. Patricks Day! The Button Accordion Band and Jeff Woodward will be with us and Im sure you will hear an Irish song/tune throughout the Market. So, when you visit, WEAR SOME GREEN and join in the fun. I have it on good authority there will be a few green hats being worn but no green sausages from the BBQ! 13.01.2022 Hi Everyone! Sorry for the late write-up on our last Market Another great day at the Market. The weather was a treat and all who attended had a nice time enjoying the sunshine. ... Thank you to all who came out to visit us. A special thank you to the Button Accordion Band and Kaitlyn Miller who entertained us, fantastic for you all to spend your Sunday morning at the Market. A very big thank you to Robert Harding who donated the money raised from selling his irises to the Australian Lions Foundation for their Bush Fire Appeal :) The BIG RED BUS and our local SES came along too and added that little special feel to the Market. We appreciate them being with us as well as the new Stall Holders. We hope all will return in the future. Our Lucky Stall Holder was Lucas King and the prize for the Best Decorated Stall went to Caz Forster. Both were very pleased with their gain. We Lions had a bit of fun by wearing our Leprechaun hats! I thought it was great that every one of them got into the spirit of celebrating St. Paddys Day. I hope you enjoy the photos, taken by Rodger, thanks Rodger! 08.01.2022 Hi Everyone, Some info from Fire Protection Australia: It is important that smoke alarms are tested regularly (usually monthly) to ensure they are operating correctly. In addition, every year, generally at the end of the daylight saving period, it is strongly recommended that you replace the batteries in all smoke alarms located in your home. 05.01.2022 STOP THE PRESS!!! If Lion Paul Drendel can raise $1,500 for drought stricken farmers in N.S.W. he will.............wait for it................ SHAVE OFF HIS BEARD AND MOUSTACHE!!!!!! ... Yep, you heard that right!! Paul wants to be proactive in some way to help the struggling farmers in drought affected N.S.W. Its going to be a bit of a shock to us all to see Paul beardless and moustacheless but the biggest shock maybe to his girls, they cant remember their Dad without them.
