25.01.2022 It is good to be back! We loved seeing our West Wimmera kids and their Kaniva teammates in action playing cricket in Horsham tonight. The West Wimmera Warriors U14s side had a ball playing the sport that they love with their mates. Boy, we have missed this! Nothing beats watching our juniors being active and enjoying this great game together By the look of those smiles, it was well worth the wait ... Our U16s will be playing tomorrow morning at Davis Park, 9am start for anyone who wants to come and cheer them on. Please make sure that you adhere to all COVID recommendations to ensure that our sport stays fun, safe and enjoyable for all #togetherasone
25.01.2022 Basketball is a great way to have fun, learn a new skill, get active and stay fit. Please see the below post for information and to register interest for an U18 style comp.
25.01.2022 || AGM AND MEMBERSHIP NOTICE || As many in the community will be aware, the Nhill & District Sporting Club has been opening up channels of discussion for what the future of the club might look like. Part of the discussions have been with neighboring club Kaniva Leeor United. The reasons behind this range from Covid related issues (including interstate travel restrictions), declining populations and long-term viability. Covid restrictions made it impossible to have open meeti...ngs and forums and thus the clubs sent out a poll to members and asked them for their input. We have welcomed comments from all interested persons whether a current member or not. At the moment we are awaiting the return of the poll between the two clubs before we meet again. It is not an easy process with many factors to consider and not a decision that will be made lightly. Any proposal the club is suggesting to members is in line with the Club’s vision: The Nhill and District Sporting Club is a place to go with a family atmosphere to meet, socialize and enjoy sporting activities. Our AGM date has been set for the 25th of November at 7:30pm. Under the rules of our constitution, to be eligible to vote in the upcoming AGM you must purchase your membership prior to the 15th. We encourage anyone wishing to have voting rights to do this immediately. Memberships have now opened up again. Our standard membership types and membership PDF can be found on our website here: https://websites.sportstg.com/club_info.cgi Alternatively, members can now easily sign up and pay online. The online membership form can be found at: https://tinyurl.com/2021ndscmembership Finally, we would like to encourage everyone to consider running for the committee in 2021. Being on the committee is by far the best way to assist in the running of the club and to help guide our short-term and long-term future. The PDF for nominations can be found here: https://websites.sportstg.com/club_info.cgi

21.01.2022 Vale Ken Smith The NDSC wish to pass on our love and support to Deb, Mykel and Scott Smith and their family and friends on the passing of their beloved husband and Father, Ken Smith. Ken was a much valued member of the Nhill and District Sporting Club and the broader Nhill community. Ken played many games of football for the Tigers, earning himself a Playing Life Membership and multiple Reserves Best and Fairests along the way. ... We were lucky to welcome the Smiths back to our club in recent years. We appreciate that they travelled up from Ballarat each week to support our club on and off the field. We loved seeing Kenny running around in the reserves and umpiring the odd game for us. Ken, you were an integral and much loved member of our Tiger family. You were a great bloke, club person and an even better friend. We are deeply saddened by your passing. You will be greatly missed but never forgotten. cred: Nhill Free Press and Kaniva Times with thanks
