18.01.2022 The Legislative Assembly building has reopened to the public, with COVID-safe measures in place.

17.01.2022 One of the favourite things I popped into some of my granddaughters’ Christmas stockings - Queeng Cards - the first deck of cards where the men and women are equal rank - none of this King being higher than a Queen! They are both Monarchs. I love that it is a gender equal pack of cards. What was previously Kings, Queens, and Jacks, are now gender equal. Queeng is an updated version of the classic deck of playing cards, but still works with all the original principles, so you can play any card game with it. So on Christmas Day that’s exactly what we did! Great to show my granddaughters equality in everything.

17.01.2022 In addition to our $12.3 million indoor multipurpose sports complex in Calwell, the Canberra Liberals are committed to upgrading the Greenway AFL Oval and will establish an AFL Hub in Kambah. Tuggeranong Valley Australian Football Club

17.01.2022 It’s Dementia Action Week 2020. Dementia affects close to half a million Australians and that number is set double in the next 25 years. Many Australians will start experiencing the impact of dementia amongst their own family and friends in the coming years. Some of my family members have dementia so I know it is important to learn about this and understand the impacts and to support people living with dementia. People living with dementia can continue to live active and rich lives many years after diagnosis.

16.01.2022 A great reminder from my lovely friend Bin Barnier

16.01.2022 Pleased to visit Council on the Ageing ACT today for a wonderful donation from Capital Chemist Hughes towards the Hughes Men’s Shed - great to see it taking off!

15.01.2022 This time last year I visited the Sandakan Memorial and laid flowers to commemorate the service and sacrifice of so many Australian prisoners of war in the infamous Death Marches during the Pacific campaign of World War II. Lest we forget. #FlashbackFriday

13.01.2022 Recently I was gifted this beautiful scarf by a friend. It is made by a local Aboriginal artist, a reminder that there are countless ways to recognise and celebrate the traditional custodians of the land we live on. This Reconciliation Day, I encourage you to think of how you can support our First Nations people and hear their voices.

11.01.2022 It was a pleasure to join some of my parliamentary colleagues last week at the YWCA Canberra Lanyon Youth and Community Centre to celebrate National Reconciliation Week and the centre's 20th anniversary.

08.01.2022 Recently I was thrilled to attend the 2020 showcase of Fresh Funk which also celebrated their 20th anniversary. With over 300 participants, Fresh Funk is Canberra’s leading hip-hop and contemporary dance program. Classes are offered in Tuggeranong and Belconnen for all ages and skill levels. Fresh Funk is about dancing, co-ordination, and enjoyment, with an emphasis on fun, fitness, and friendship. Congratulations Fresh Funk on all you have achieved in 20 years. https://www.tuggeranongarts.com/fresh-f/fresh-funk-history/Tuggeranong Arts Centre

07.01.2022 I have spoken to many of you about this tired, complacent Labor Government. It’s time for fresh new ideas, greater accountability and careful stewardship of what is, after all, YOUR money. The Community Services Directorate’s handling of purchasing is a flabbergasting example of astonishing incompetence. It is an abject failure in protection of the community interest by the directorate. And these failures occurred under the ministerial stewardship of Rachel Stephen-Smith, writes political columnist MICHAEL MOORE. ELECTIONS are the time when ordinary citizens can hold governments to account. It is certainly time to hold the longstanding, complacent ACT Labor government to account. (From CityNews Canberra)

07.01.2022 How was 2020 for you? For many, it was a difficult year. Working from home, unable to travel, restrictions, job losses, school from home, not being able to visit loved ones, and much more. We started with smoke, fire and hail and it seemed to get worse from there. For me, this year reinforced what was important. Family, friends and community are what helped me this year. Being unable to travel and temporarily being unable to visit loved ones was a small price to pay for keep...ing our community safe. I am so grateful for my family, friends, and for the trust of our community for helping me through the past year and for electing me once again over the past year. While things are not 100 per cent how I would like them to be, we could be so much worse off. Things are certainly not back to normal yet (and who knows when they might be), yet I still want to thank you for the part you have played in keeping our community safe this past year. The challenges of the past year have shown how resilient and flexible we are. (Selection of photos from my 2020)

07.01.2022 When you’re casting your vote this election, remember that this is your chance to put Tuggeranong first. You can vote for lower taxes and better services. 07.01.2022 Each year Tuggeranong Netball Association hold a reconciliation event with a genuine commitment to recognition of past wrongs and respect, living in peace together and strengthening connection to the community. Thank you Paul House, Ngambri-Ngunnawal custodian for your warm welcome and smoking ceremony. Then we watched the TNA reconciliation game with the Indigenous youth and open teams playing against the TNA Presidents invitational teams. ... The weather was cold but the atmosphere was warm! Good to be with my colleague Mark Parton MLA.

07.01.2022 Devastating news of the passing of a great educator and leader of the Deaf community, Leonie Jackson. My deep condolences to her boys and all who loved her, and to colleagues and friends. 02.01.2022 Something that has been raised with me personally is the need for a residential eating disorder facility here in the ACT. Patients shouldn't have to travel to Sydney to get proper treatment. I am proud that a Canberra Liberals Government will fast-track this project. You can read more about our mental health policies here: https://voteliberal.org.au/health/

02.01.2022 Thank you to my lovely friend Nathan for these kind words. It actually made me a bit teary. When I assisted the Costigan family after the murder of Tara Costigan a few years ago, it was simply the right thing to do. I am glad that what I did was so helpful to them in those terrible times. I appreciate the shout out!
