21.01.2022 Damper Today, all of the children at Nido Pennington got to enjoy Damper for their afternoon tea, with many of the Toddler children helping to make their own mini Damper! Damper has been made by Australian Aboriginals for thousands of years and is also known as Bush Bread! It is traditionally cooked over coals, and whilst we couldn't have the full Damper cooking experience using our conventional oven, all of the children loved it nonetheless! ... So much so that we've posted the recipe here for you to try at home too! Let us know if you give it a try!

20.01.2022 Acknowledgement of Country As we at Nido Pennington actively continue on our journey towards Reconciliation, we felt that mounting our Acknowledgement of Country plaque during Reconciliation week was perfectly timed. We would like to extend our thanks to our wonderful Educator, Kahlia, who created this beautiful plaque to be so proudly displayed here at Nido Pennington.

07.01.2022 At Nido, we are passionate about providing our children with more than just simple activities. We go the extra mile to think of new and exciting ways to provide the children with open ended experiences that inspire creativity and independent expression. Our Toddler and Kinder children were provided with natural paints, made using different spices, and were able to create their own masterpieces that not only looked amazing, but smelled it too

07.01.2022 We pride ourselves in our ability to follow a child's lead! When they show us their interests, we do all that we can to support this learning path! Our Kinder children have loved spotting all the vehicles passing by recently, and they all took a moment to enjoy this sensory vehicle set up too Here at Nido, we have a wide range of resources and plenty of staff full of creative ideas, so please let us know if you think there's an activity we could plan for based around your child's interests at home

04.01.2022 There's always time to be creative Our Kinder children love to help setting up their own outdoor activities by finding natural resources in our gardens. Scented play dough combined with loose parts leaves so many opportunities for children to show us their own unique creativity!

03.01.2022 We've been planting in our indoor garden this week! The Kindy children are excited to see what starts to grow from their seeds. Here at Nido, we help children to become socially responsible and to show respect for their environment. One way that we do this is by our educators modelling respect, care and appreciation for nature. We think that our new growing area will be the perfect way to connect with out natural world

02.01.2022 We can't wait to celebrate Diwali, the beautiful festival of lights, on Tuesday the 17th of November! Families are invited to join us from 2:30 for the tasting of traditional Indian foods and the chance to create some beautiful Diwali inspired crafts! We're so fortunate to have both Families and Educators who celebrate Diwali every year, and we're excited for all of us at Nido Pennington to join in for the celebrations too!... For children attending childcare on Tuesday, we'd love for you to come dressed your brightest and most colourful clothes!
