Dragons play Souths in the main game at 7pm for the fiercely contested "Shield" This season marks the 20th time these two club compete for the shield -which was brought about by the untimely passing of Chicko. A coach of both clubs during his long coaching career and a very happy Grand Final coach in 1987 when he coached all his sons in a winning Grand Final for Nightcliff Dragons A hard task master who would never ask his players to do anything he couldn't do himself and that included his notorious "road runs" around Nightciff where he lead the way home each time and in later years was closely followed by his grandson Shannon - the story has been told that Chico would run to the back of the pack to encourage the stragglers to get home - then get back to the front - that is one story of many that may be told on Saturday night at TRL . The Chico Motlop medal will be presented after the game to the "Best on Ground" Another milestone will be achieved on Saturday night as Captain David Paull will play his hundredth game. The club’s honorary lawyer Peter Maley has been advised of the comments and will be dealing with this matter first thing Monday morning!
