22.01.2022 The 2021 draw is out...

22.01.2022 Tigers Hockey Club send our deepest condolences to the Lenoir family who are mourning the loss of Maurie Lenoir. The beloved father, grandfather, husband and brother, passed away peacefully on the 3rd of November. A memorial will be held at the Michael Long centre on Monday 16th November at 3.30pm. The family requests no flowers, donations to the cancer council would be appreciated.... In the early 90's, Maurie approached a senior member of Tigers Hockey Club and said he had a dream that Tigers was the club his son could grow, learn, have support and mentoring, he told this senior member that Nicko would play for tigers from then on! Nicko went on to play U16 and seniors for Tigers, he has won premierships, made life long friends and now has his own boys Noah & Max playing in Yellow & Black. I had the pleasure of catching up with Maurie at the U14 Tiger boys Grand Final in September this year, he made jokes about my weight and passed comments on the game that were chringeworthy at times and we had a laugh or two, but anyone who knows Maurie well, expects no less . Maurie had come down to watch his grandson Noah play, It was nice to see him on Tiger hill, proud as punch, sitting with the other parents, grandparents and his youngest grandson Max. Maurie was always around hockey in some capacity, I believe he was one of the first managers of the marrara hockey centre, back in the day when we only had one turf and one-hell of a car park party area! Maurie has been a part of every turf build, repair & replacement that we know of, he knows the facility like no other and his efforts to provide Darwin Hockey with a quality playing surface was second to none. Maurie you will be missed by many and Tigers Hockey Club will continue to look after your family in your absence. Rest in peace Regards Kelly Skippings President of Tigers Hockey Club
