24.01.2022 I have been working on a new website for ages and finally thought it was ready to publish. Have a look and let me know what you think folks www.nimueart.com.au

24.01.2022 I am working on a series of eucalypt studies. This is the first one that I have completed , which is a pastel painting. The plan is to use several different media, including encaustic as I feel it will lend itself very nicely to the texture of the bark. I am enjoying the process anyway - which is what painting is all about when all is said and done ! It is pleasing to be painting trees on our property as they are all well loved friends.

23.01.2022 Finished painting my latest silk scarf. Blotching in the background is always a bit of a challenge but this one worked out well. I have the next scarf designed but am now plucking up courage to start on it as it is a rather complex pattern. I'm having fun playing with some small silk paintings in the meanwhile. Haven't got back to the encaustic bench yet !!!

23.01.2022 Spent a very frustrating and fruitless morning yesterday on an encaustic piece. Finally got in a temper and attacked it with the iron, melting all the wax off the board, which was a bit silly as I then had to clean up the mess of wax from both bench, floor and iron ! (Served me right ! ) Now have a completely bare board, wasted a lot of wax and am rather angry with myself for loosing the plot ! Kept away from any art work for the rest of yesterday and also had a break today. Will see what tomorrow brings . Note to self - "Have a well balanced plan before you start and work with it " . Hopefully we learn from our mistakes !

19.01.2022 A change of medium. Working on a silk scarf with an orchid design for a change. I still have some fine detail to complete but it is coming along okay. I had a few splashes of dye in the wrong place but quickly diluted them and they will disappear when I paint the entire background in a dark tone. I will be doing a few floral scarves - not my usual subject but they do look great on scarves.

14.01.2022 I have finished the commission that I have been working on. A pastel portrait of a sweet, full of life border collie called Zeva. She has the best grin . I really enjoyed painting her Contact me if you would like a portrait of your pet.

13.01.2022 Well the unsold work from my exhibition in the Philippines has finally arrived home . Not a single piece of glass broken nor any harm to the paintings despite some damage to the containers. It is good to have them back safely. Every credit to the packers at Galeria de la Islas, Manila . Now to set up a website to hopefully sell these and paint more .

02.01.2022 Finally finished this pastel commission of a very handsome and flashy male German shepherd and his smaller but equally good looking- if not as flashy - Mum .
