24.01.2022 HOTSPOT REVOKED: The NT Chief Health Officer has confirmed that Mitchell Shire will be revoked as a hotspot from midday today (Friday 13 November 2020). This means that people arriving in the Northern Territory from Mitchell Shire will no longer have to undertake mandatory supervised quarantine. Anyone currently in mandatory quarantine from Mitchell Shire will be able to exit. Mitchell Shire includes the towns of Broadford, Kilmore, Seymour, Tallarook, Pyalong and Wallan.... Greater Melbourne remains a declared hotspot for the purpose of travel to the Northern Territory. For more information about hot spots and to stay up to date with the latest information visit www.coronavirus.nt.gov.au I am confident in revoking Mitchell Shire as a hotspot from midday today. Upon review of the data and the evidence there are currently no active cases and there has been no cases from an unknown source for more than 28 days." Chief Health Officer Dr Hugh Heggie said.

Under current legislation, if Boxing Day falls on a Saturday, the public holiday is observed on the following Monday and there is no official public holiday on the Saturday. 11.01.2022 POSITIVE CASES: There have been three new positive cases of COVID-19 recorded in the Northern Territory in the past 24 hours. A four year old girl, 39 year old woman and 58 year old woman all arrived on an earlier repatriation flight from New Dehli and remain under the care of the AUSMAT team at the Centre for National Resilience. Since repatriation flights to the Northern Territory began on 23 October 2020:... 1001 international arrivals have undertaken quarantine at the Howard Springs Centre for National Resilience A total of 19 positive COVID-19 cases have been reported The total number of cases diagnosed in the Northern Territory is 53. All cases have been related to international or interstate travel, with no cases of community transmission.

05.01.2022 COVID-19 INFRINGEMENT: Northern Territory Police have issued two men with infringement notices and moved them to the Howard Springs Quarantine Facility for breaching their quarantine requirements and completely disrespecting the exemption arrangements they had been afforded. As part of their work arrangements, the two Canadian men had been granted approval to quarantine in a Darwin hotel before travelling interstate. The men arrived in their hotel on Monday and over the next ...few days were seen several times leaving the premises as well as not wearing masks within the hotel itself. The men have been taken to the Howard Springs Quarantine Facility to complete their quarantine period. The infringement penalty for failing to abide by the Chief Health Officer Directions issued under section 56 of the Public and Environment Health Act 2011 is $5,056 for an individual and $25,280 for a business.
