25.01.2022 Magistrates Court changes for Covid-19 The Magistrates Court has announced that the general and first return lists will be vacated from April, May and June. April - will reschedule to July May - will reschedule to August... June - will reschedule to September Courts will continue to run trials and pre-trial conferences already scheduled, overnight custody lists, bail applications, major indictable lists and family violence lists. We will also have the ability to bring matters forward for guilty pleas. If you have a matter in court in April, May or June the court will be issuing new dates in the coming weeks. 05.01.2022 Covid-19: Changes to our service The health and wellbeing of our clients, staff and community are of utmost importance to us. To ensure we are doing our bit to reduce the spread, we will be making changes to the way we provide our service to you. Please be assured that we have the technology available to continue acting for you without interruption. All of our appointments will be conducted via video link and/or telephone where possible. The courts are regularly reviewing arr...angements to limit the necessity for defendants to attend in person and we will discuss this with you prior to any upcoming court dates. If an in-person appointment is required for the signing of documents that must be witnessed, that appointment will be limited to the signing of those documents only. Any discussions about those documents will be completed prior to the appointment via electronic means and an appointment for signing will not be made until we are sure the document is in its final form. We encourage all of our clients to ensure that we have your up to date contact details including an email address if you are content to be contacted about your matter in this way. We will continue to review these arrangements as things change. If you have any concerns, please dont hesitate to get in touch.
