23.01.2022 the cold snap is upon us and just in time for the long weekend. Rug up and keep warm. For those planning on going out to see the snow this weekend: - a four wheel drive is your best bet. A 2 wheel drive will not cope with the dirt roads.... - be aware of black ice. - take plenty of warm clothing plus extra supplies just in case conditions change suddenly. - have a back up plan for communications. In rural and remote areas, mobile phone communications are unreliable. - tell someone where you are going and when you plan to return. Make sure you tell that person when you have safely returned. 01.01.2022 An off duty paramedic has assisted a truckie this morning in attempting to extinguish a fire that started in his truck this morning in #Muswellbrook. The driver was assessed for smoke inhalation and referred to #NSWAmbulance. #FireRescueNSW crews attended to manage the fire.
