18.01.2022 NNDFC are super excited to welcome Ryan Banks-Smith back to the home of the Eagles!! Ryan played all of his under-age with NNJFC & also scored the U/16 Association B&F in 2015. Ryan then adventured to Glenorchy to take his football career to a higher level, of which he secured his position in the Glenorchy Senior side. He will be a huge asset to the Eagles and we are excited to see him in action. Most of all, we are looking forward to seeing him play aslong side his brother Jordan

Originally Tyler joined us from the Bothwell F.C in the ODFA where he featured in 3 premierships winning the B.O.G Medal in the later of the 3 wins.... Tyler is a key position player with an incredible set of hands and great skills. 15.01.2022 RIP Mrs Jess Clayton: The Club, Players, members and supporters wish to offer thier condolences to the Clayton family on the passing of Mrs Jess Clayton. This family has a long and passionate history with our club. Jess was married to Doug Clayton a non playing life member who played 100 games, was a trainer and long standing member. Jess herself was a passionate member and a regular at the footy club bar for many years.... Jess was mother to Cameron who played colts before being drafted to Richmond at 15, Brendan Mulga Clayton who is a much loved life member, premiership player, coach and clubman & Brett Reggie Clayton a reserves premiership player. They had 2 other brothers and 10 sisters, all of whom loved and contributed to the club (of course Dyke who has helped out and patronised the club all they way through). Jess was also grandmother to Zac And Nic Clayton, both playing life members and multiple premiership players, along with Josh and Sam Hall who also are both 4 x premiership players and playing over 100 games each, Ben Shaw who served as President, played and coached at lower levels. Jess had 40 grandkids and 44 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren and many of them have also contributed to the club either through junior football and the colts. The club wishes to offer thier sincere condolences to the Clayton and all extended families at this sad time.

07.01.2022 Exciting coaching announcement Whilst the cats out of the bag on this one already we would like to formally announce Ben Shaw as women’s football coach for 2021. Now most already know Ben as the Mayor of our beautiful Derwent Valley and a keen football club supporter but what you probably don’t know is the enormous level of passion he truly has for the NNDFC and in particular the success of our women’s program. ... Ben has seen it all and done it all at the club from a player, administrator, president (of our last senior men’s flag in 2017) and now as Senior women’s coach for 2021. Ben has a strong desire to see this team have success and to provide a place where women can come and give AFL a go without fear and without any hesitation, everyone is welcome. Most importantly he is a very proud New Norfolk person who wants to see this season continue to build our club and really become a place where men and women young or not so young can come and aspire to follow their dreams and pursue football from underage right though to seniors in the Derwent Valley. There will be some more exciting announcements to come in the next few weeks but for now Congratulations Ben and we wish you and the team every success for the upcoming season. He’s recovered well and will be looking to prove a point next season. He is a hard nosed running defender who will give us plenty of drive. Tyron has spent the last couple years at Clarence, where he has gained experience at a TSL level & he has also represented our state at varies ages!... 05.01.2022 Another Eagle announcement Please welcome (back) to the club Josh Monks! Josh started out in the New Norfolk under 8’s many years ago.... He played with the eagles throughout his junior days before eventually heading off to Woodsdale in the ODFA. Josh has had a really successful ODFA career playing 200 senior games, winning 5 premierships and numerous individual accolades along the way. After a couple of stop start seasons due to injury he’s now fit and ready to step things up and have a big year with the eagles in 2021! Welcome back Josh!
