19.01.2022 Will mention the Radioactive 'substances' at the OEH in Weeroona Rd. Lidcombe issue has not changed and no real mitigating action has been takes by the the State Government to date. I put a comprehensive submission (see earlier posts) into the Department regards the matter and never had a reply. I will continue to lobby the Stte government regards the matter in my role a the upcoming Greens candidate for the seat of Auburn in the 2015 election. Regards Malikeh Michels (BMedia/LLB MSc (Environmental Science)

19.01.2022 Time to stop the radiation...

19.01.2022 Please be advised that I will be running for the seat of Auburn for the NSW State Election on Sat. March 28th 2015. If anyone is willing to assist with letter boxing leaflets or manning a stall please text 0424 177 791or inbox me on FB. I will note I was a Greens Councillor on Auburn Council for 8.5 years from April 2004- September 2012. As a Greens person I support sustainable development and the non-privatisation of essential services such as hospitals, electricity, water and public transport. The Greens support environmental sustainability, grass roots political representation, social justice, nuclear non-proliferation and are opposed to large businesses donating to political parties. I raised the motion on Auburn Council to make Auburn a ' Nuclear Free Community' .

18.01.2022 Campaign managing this very competent woman SEMRA BATIK for the Cumberland Council elections. We are ex Auburn Council colleagues and always supported each other against the likes of over developers. Semra has many achievements on Council and is a tireless community worker. She assists the Turkish community and the general community in making a better area for residents not developets.

17.01.2022 The choice for voters for the upcoming election. Greens -Malikeh Michels on the far right next to the next possible Premier Luke Foley. Please consider a progressive vote or even a protest vote for the Greens. Can put Greens 1 then next choice. Once the '1' Greens exhaust votes and drop out all the No. 2s are passed on that party if they are still standing #preferentialvoting

10.01.2022 65 likes this week for this page ! It's a big issue in Lidcombe and our area. #LukeFoley and the ALP are talking about there resistance to the 'radioactive substance' being transferred to the storage facility in Weerona Rd Lidcombe but the ALP actually funded a $1 million dollar upgrade of the then DEC facility in 2007 to be able to accept all radioactive substances graded at that level. That story is being kept quiet. I believe there are over 10 sq metres of radioactive sub...stances stored in the site which is next to the new Housing estate Botanica. Many residents were furious when they found out about the NSW Environmental Dept. storing the radioactive material there. There has been little change to the issue from either elected government even since the public outcry. Tge 'radioactive substance' as it is deemed by the State Government could possibly go to Lucas Heights ANSTO facility aside from the avoidance of that solution because the successive governments saying its a jurisdiction issue as ANSTO is a Federal facility and this issue is a State Govt. issue. I can't accept that argument and the 'machinery of government' should be amended through legislation to be able to address the situation. Lucas Heights is the Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation site which is a purpose built nuclear reactor and research facility in Lucas Heights near Padstow. It is in a more isolated area. See more

08.01.2022 How encouraging to see so many 'likes' on the page lately. It is still an issue and the radioactive waste has not gone away. We must question both major parties to what their strategy for the waste is. It simply should not be stored in a residential area.

07.01.2022 Great day for a community BBQ in Parramatta! A delightful morning with The Greens NSW local government candidates Sujan Selven Phil Bradley, Greens Candidate for Parramatta Christopher James - Your Candidate for Rosehill and many supporters. Vote 1 Greens on September 9.
