22.01.2022 International Women’s Day is today! And this year we are marching to end violence against women. In NSW, nearly 80 domestic violence assaults are occurring eve...ry day, and we’ve seen a 2% increase over a 5 year trend. Join us on Saturday 12th March to march to end violence against women (11.30am, Archibald Fountain, Hyde Park North).

14.01.2022 From Women’s Homelessness Prevention Project (WHPP) in VIctoria: "Those who earn less money, do the majority of the child rearing, are victims of violence and are then being forced to fend for themselves while dealing with legal issues related to domestic violence, rent, debt and eviction issues... Family violence is the most common cause of homelessness in Victoria. There are currently over 34,000 people on the waiting list for public housing in Victoria and less than 0.1% of all private rental properties in and around metropolitan Melbourne are affordable for single parents on low incomes"

05.01.2022 "Promoting a ‘hard-line’ use of powers by the Department of Immigration is to give license to a system that fundamentally works against the interests of women of colour who have experienced family violence."

05.01.2022 Have you or do you know someone, a friend or a family member that has tried to get into a women's refuge in NSW over the last 12 months? This survey is being conducted by members of the newly formed Coalition for Women's Refuges. Please share.
