21.01.2022 This week has been National Volunteer Week. We want to take this chance to say thank you to all our volunteers at Nobby's Beach SLSC. You might volunteer a lot of time or a little. You might participate in fundraising events, patrol the beach, help with the nipper BBQ, sit as a Director on the board, help out training our future surf lifesavers, 'shake the can', be a nipper age manager or bake a cake for a bake sale... the list of volunteer opportunities goes on and on. ... Whatever you do as a volunteer at the Club - thank you! Without volunteers - a surf club cannot operate. We appreciate your time and effort! #thisislifesaving #NVW2020 #waveforvolunteers Volunteering Queensland Volunteering Australia Surf Life Saving Queensland Surf Life Saving Australia

13.01.2022 A Message from Club President, I would like to thank the people who gave up their time yesterday and made the Inter Branch Championships a great success. Without the effort and energy of a core group of people, we wouldn’t have been able to do as well as we did. Normally I do not like to mention individuals as one it is a team effort and two, I may leave someone out however, I feel that the following need special mention for the amount of work they did:... * Sam Sessarago for organising the food for the officials * Paula Baker for oganising the BBQ and bake sale * Matt Jedra and Dylan Gabbert for their BBQ work * Derek Styles for his help in packing up * Ian Murphy and Ace for their help in setting up * Dane Lewis, James Brown, Ethan Fletcher, Kacey Hatton and Nathen Heffernan for manning the IRB on the water all day, and their help for event pack down. * Mikaela Mew for all her organsation help * Josh and Anastasia Baker for their BBQ work and help with packing up * Tracey Hill for her help on the BBQ * Paul Keighley for his work as first aid officer * Katrina Howard for help with Sam and her first aid officer help * Tatum Wilson for manning the coffee cart, helping Sam and Paula * And last but certainly not least, Dan Homer for all his work which is far too long to mention for the day Thank you all and I apologise if I have missed any one out. Shaun Hourigan
