25.01.2022 UPDATE - Immigration South Australia ! The Government of South Australia has been advised of a limited number of interim allocation places for the States General Skilled and Business Migration Program for 2020/21, which will be prioritised to support South Australias economic and public health recovery. The full nomination allocations for 2020/21 will be determined later in the year as part of the 2020/21 Budget process.... Given the limited number of available nominations, South Australias program requirements and application processes for the General Skilled and Business Programs are currently being finalised, with a view to applications being open in late August 2020. Based on direction from the Department of Home Affairs, applications will be prioritised according to: High-quality applications within the Business Innovation and Investment Program, with those who have already lodged an Intention to Apply given priority consideration. Applicants, critical to supporting South Australias response to the COVID19 pandemic, including individuals providing critical or specialist medical services, critical skills required to maintain the supply of essential goods and services; or delivering services in sectors critical to Australias economic recovery. Early consideration to onshore applicants that satisfy the above criteria. Further guidance will be available on their website next week.
25.01.2022 TASMANIA State Nomination Program Update 2020/21 The Department of State Growth understands the concerns held by some current and prospective skilled migrants as the State Visa Nomination Program changes at the national level. We recognise the valuable contribution that skilled migrants bring to the state and continue to work with the Australian Government to provide more clarity as much as possible.... Unfortunately, until we receive confirmation from the Department of Home Affairs some applications will not be able to progress further, but will remain active and be addressed once this advice is received. We assure you that we continue to work to support those already here through the program and those looking to come here to start a new life. We will keep all nominees and applicants updated on the status of the program as new information becomes available. Currently there are a limited number of interim nomination places available in Tasmania, with the focus on nominations that will assist the states public health system and economic recovery. Further information on these places will be released shortly. We will not have further certainty on full nomination allocations for 2020-21 until October when the 2020-21 Federal Budget is handed down. 04.01.2022 UPADATE: Victorian business and investor visa nomination program 2020/21. Victorias 2020-21 business and investor visa nomination program (subclass 188 and 132) will open on Tuesday, 8 September, 2020. The coronavirus pandemic has significantly changed the economic and social environment for migration policies and programs, but well-targeted migration policies and programs remain essential to Victorias economic recovery.... The Commonwealth Department of Home Affairs has provided the Victorian Government with an interim allocation of visa nomination places for the Business Innovation and Investment Program (BIIP) up until the Federal Budget on 6 October. The limited number of places are to be used to address the states economic recovery and health response to the pandemic. The Commonwealth Government will advise after the Federal Budget what additional state nomination visa places will be allocated to the Victorian Government for the remainder of the 2020-21 program year. Changes to nomination criteria For the interim period, the Victorian Governments business and investor migration program will reopen with no substantial changes to the existing nomination criteria, except for one additional requirement. All business and investment activity must contribute to Victorias economic recovery or health response to be approved for visa nomination. Places are limited and applications are expected to be highly competitive. To have the best chance of success, it is important that your application is specific about the way your business or investment will assist Victorias economic recovery or health response to the pandemic. Changes to application processing The Commonwealth Government has provided the interim places for the Victorian Government to use until the Federal Budget. To ensure that all applications received can be assessed within this timeframe, applications will close at 5pm AEST, 21 September 2020.
