25.01.2022 3pm today! Join us for a free skills workout!

25.01.2022 Want to shoot from further? Incorporate any one of these 6 tips!

25.01.2022 Here's a great 15 minute workout you can do at home working on a between the legs dribble move, a one step finish, and a move called a bound. This is a sample of one of the workouts from our LIMITLESS Online Academy, which involves: 3 x 45 minute workouts added every week... Comprehensive video library of drills/skills (90 videos and growing) Private Facebook group for UNLIMITED feedback from our coaches (including video review of your jump shot as often as you like) All of this for less than $14 per week! Plus, we offer a 7 day free trial so you can be sure the program will be right for you. For more info or to sign up for your free trial, head to: https://training.nolimitsbasketball.com.au/p/limitless-onli

24.01.2022 Sliding is great as it allows you to quickly change direction, and you are in a more stable position if contact occurs. However, you can only slide when the offensive player is completely in front of you, and they are moving laterally. If the offense gets even the slightest bit outside your frame, and they are running, you should immediately get into a cross step (run) to catch back up.... One of the reasons young players get beat easily is they stick with a slide for too long, waiting until the offense is all the way past them before switching to a run.

24.01.2022 Finishing around the rim requires flexibility - if you only practice right hand lay-ups on the right hand side jumping off the left foot, there's going to be a lot of finishing situations in games that you aren't prepared for. Usually, the reason we use: - a certain hand is to use whichever hand will get the ball away from the defender (s) - a certain foot is whichever foot takes a step at the time we want to jump... - one or two steps just depends on where we take our last dribble - the side of the rim is just wherever the space/gap is See more

23.01.2022 Relax on offense - change your speeds, play slow to fast, don't be in a hurry Play "faster" on defense - more hustle, more energy, more urgency

23.01.2022 We are thrilled to announce that starting this Saturday we will be offering both outdoor and virtual small group sessions. The outdoor sessions will take place at our academy (we have set up an outdoor hoop). Current Government regulations on outdoor exercise allow up to 2 people plus a trainer, so the outdoor sessions will be groups of 2. Virtual sessions are in groups of 4.... Heavy focus on COMPETITIVE drills (time/score in skill based drills) We are all missing the thrill of competition without games, so one of our main goals of these sessions is to provide that to players! Bookings are casual (just pay for one session at a time): Groups of 4 (virtual sessions) - $45 Groups of 2 (outdoor sessions) - $65 BOOK NOW: https://nolimitsbasketball.pike13.com/

22.01.2022 Life isn't black and white, and neither is basketball - if you say "always" or "never" when coaching, you're probably wrong. Basketball has a whole lot of grey. Usually one way of doing a skill isn't "better" than another way, it's just different, and we want to help players develop both ways. They'll usually pick up some things naturally - our job is to fill in the gaps.

21.01.2022 Watch just about any great shooter shoot, and you'll see pretty much the same follow through. Want to be great at something? Learn from those who are already great at it!

21.01.2022 The rulebook is massively tilted towards offensive players in regards to contact. Use that to your advantage. Once you get next to (or in front of) a defender, you need to use your body to make sure they don't get back in front of you.

20.01.2022 June/July Holiday Camps available now for bookings. www.nolimitsbasketball.com.au/camps Not many places left!... We'll have strict hygiene measures in place to ensure the health and safety of all participants.

19.01.2022 2021 is here! Comment your goals for the coming year below! Setting some goals is a great thing to do, and something we recommend everyone do! The important thing to remember though is that if you want to achieve different (better) results than you have in the past, you can't do things the same way!... If your goal is to shoot 30% from 3PT this year, and you've never done that before, you probably need to adjust your shooting routine, or maybe fix some technique problems. If you keep doing the same process you've done, it's not very likely you'll get a different result. For each goal, set a daily/weekly process that will make that goal happen. Taking again the above goal, your process goal might be "Shoot 100 shots every day".

17.01.2022 The rip-cone is such an effective way to force realistic body positions and off-hand activity. It's not just about making things more difficult - we could get you to juggle while doing a drag and it wouldn't really have the desired effect. But when there is a purpose behind the method, training tools like this can make your training far more realistic than doing it 1 on 0, and usually results in a much better carry over to the game.

16.01.2022 Increasing your vertical jump isn't as "mystical" as people often think it is. There aren't really secrets, and it is absolutely possible to increase your vertical just as it's possible to improve your overall athleticism.

16.01.2022 Want to keep training over the New Years break while other stadiums are closed? Check out what's running at our academy! We've got small group skills training, pick up/scrimmages, and our Dr Dish machines available for hire! To book: https://nolimitsbasketball.pike13.com/

16.01.2022 The body jab has to be one of the most effective moves you can do from triple threat. Gets 'em every time! Add this to your !

16.01.2022 We're very excited to have a date in sight when we can welcome you all back to our academy! Assuming all goes well we'll be reopening on June 22! We can't wait to start working with you guys again!

15.01.2022 There's always someone further down the path you are trying to go down that you can learn from.

14.01.2022 It would be nice to be able to shoot a floater with both hands, but really isn't necessary. We only have a certain amount of time that we can spend training, and so we have to weigh things up on time vs. reward. Any time you spend on your weak hand floater could instead be spent making your strong hand floater even better. I do believe that you should work on your weak hand floater until it feels comfortable, as this will no doubt help with your overall finishing ability and ...coordination with that hand. Beyond that though, spend far more time working on your strong hand floater. Is there going to be a couple of occasions where if you had a killer weak hand floater, you would have been able to get it off? Maybe. Is there going to be far more situations where you can shoot the floater with either hand, and now the extra time you've put into your strong hand floater is worth it? Definitely. We want to be able to finish at the rim equally well with both hands. Jump shots we only work on one hand exclusively. Floaters are somewhere in between (but closer to jump shots!).

14.01.2022 You can't just hope for success. You have to earn it.

14.01.2022 Every opportunity you get to play basketball is something you should be grateful for. You never know when it could be your last game.

13.01.2022 Bad technique means that you're going to need to practice more to get to the same level as someone else with better technique, and it may mean that there is a limit on how good you can get.

12.01.2022 For the next 3 days, you can get 30% off your first month of our online academy - that is less than $19 per week! 12.01.2022 SHOOTING DRILL - STEP IN AND SCOOP Here's a shooting drill you can do at home working on picking up the ball off the dribble to get into our shot. Typically shots off the dribble are closely guarded, so players must be able to cleanly and quickly get the ball from the dribble to the shot!... If you'd like access to over 100+ skill breakdowns just like this for less than $1 per day, check out the LIMITLESS Online Academy: https://training.nolimitsbasketball.com.au/ Try it free for 7 days, then just $29 AUD per month.

10.01.2022 Lift Drill: One of the most important shooting drills for players to do! This will work on your ability to move the ball up before your body, which is a trait of nearly all great shooters. A common shooting flaw that poor shooters and often younger players have, is lifting the ball and their body at the same time. This ends up in the shot coming from the chest with the hand behind the ball.... By lifting the ball first, we can get the ball to a position with our hand under it before we start lifitng our hips. While it may seem harder at first to generate power due to different timing, once players master this, they'll will be more accurate as well as have more range.

09.01.2022 Virtual small group skills sessions available to book this coming Tuesday and Wednesday! Limited spots available as they are groups of just 4 players so every player gets lots of individual coaching. https://nolimitsbasketball.pike13.com/ to book.

09.01.2022 There's so many subtle movements and abilities that can give players small advantages, that lead to a big difference in their game. Some of these things they may pick up naturally, but some they won't, leaving gaps in their game. What we do is help players to fill in those gaps, and eliminate any weaknesses.

09.01.2022 Confidence comes from being prepared. It comes from putting in the hours to become great. Confidence is the belief that you are going to be successful at something. This comes from getting good at it!

09.01.2022 If you want to be a better defender, don't allow players to beat you using their strengths! Most players would agree that if a defender didn't let them go to their strengths at all during a game, that'd very frustrating! Very few players are great at everything. Figure out what the offense likes to do, and then make them spend the entire game having to do something else.

09.01.2022 Available tomorrow: Small group skills sessions via Zoom Maximum of 4 players in a group! You'll get the same personal and individual feedback that you get at one of our small group sessions at our academy, but right from your own home.... We will also be incorporating competitive skill drills into these sessions, as we know that without games players are missing being able to challenge themselves against other players. To book just head to: https://nolimitsbasketball.pike13.com/ Cost is $45 for a 55 minute session (paid casually - no membership or minimum number of sessions required).

08.01.2022 Being able to STOP quickly can be just as useful as being able to GO quickly.

07.01.2022 If you find yourself missing FTs in games due to pressure, here is an important tip for you. Just before you shoot, breathe out, relax, pause for 0.5-1 seconds, then shoot. Breathing our releases a lot of the tension you will hold if you are holding your breath.

07.01.2022 A great finishing move, particularly for guards going up against bigger players. Being able to finish with the inside hand is crucial for surprising defenders and getting the ball to the rim quickly!

06.01.2022 We are looking to run outdoor skills sessions next week! We are just waiting until the Government's announcement on Sunday so that we can offer as much as possible while following restrictions to keep everyone safe and healthy. We'll keep you posted!

05.01.2022 The low sweep is a must have move against tight/pressure defense.

05.01.2022 Sell drive to back your defender up + knock down the shot.

03.01.2022 We’ve never understood the logic of "every great shooter shoots differently - so don't worry about technique, just shoot your shot!" Do all great shooters shoot the ball EXACTLY the same? No, but it's pretty similar! Sure, there are a couple of outliers with completely unique shots. But for the most part, there's a lot more the same than there is different about the form of great shooters. ------------------... Join us for our free shooting webinar tonight at 7pm! 02.01.2022 A few snaps from our camps back in the April school holidays!

01.01.2022 Pressure is relying on you to NOT stay cool and calm in order for it to work. It needs you to panic for it to be effective. If you can understand that, and keep your poise, then you'll find that by pressuring you the defense is always giving something up. If it's a single defender getting right up on you, they are going to be much easier to get by because they've got so close. If it is multiple defenders trapping you, then you've got an open teammate somewhere!
