22.01.2022 WHATS THE DEAL WITH STAGE 3 LOCKDOWN??!! Hi everyone, Just wanting to update you all on what will be happening at NOMAD as we enter Stage 3 Lockdown once again.... According to the DHHS, hair salons are allowed to remain open during Stage 3 Lockdown, and must abide by strict rules of cleanliness and social distancing. Therefore, if you have an appointment booked, it will be going ahead (at this stage). I hope to answer some questions you may have below... CLEANLINESS - As I have been keeping the salon and my tools impeccably clean between every visit since reopening in June, nothing will change here. Hand sanitiser will be dispensed at the beginning of each appointment. SOCIAL DISTANCING - We have measured the salon and we have enough room to abide by the 4sqm per person rule. Of course, keeping a 1.5m distance while applying a colour or cutting is not possible, but as soon as I am finished with what I need to do, I will allow the appropriate distance. NUMBER LIMITS - I can only have ONE PERSON in the salon with me at a time. So please do not bring anyone with you. KIDS APPOINTMENTS - If you have an appointment booked for a child, they will need to sit alone in the caravan with me while you wait outside or in the car. (Children do not need to wear a mask) MASKS - Must be worn for the duration of your appointment. I will work around them as best I can. BEVERAGES - I cannot serve beverages, so please BYO coffee and water, but remember that you need to have your mask on between sips. PRODUCTS - Our amazing products are still available and can be purchased via the website (www.nomadhairdesign.com.au). You can select to click and collect from Porepunkah, or have them posted. CANCELLATIONS - I understand a lot is changing by the day, so if you need to cancel, please let me know asap. WAITLISTS - As you know, we are moving and the salon will close at the end of August, and I am fully booked until then. If you would like to be put on a waitlist for a cancelled booking please let me know. COULD I CLOSE EARLY? - Yes, there is always the chance I will have to close earlier than the end of Aug. 13.01.2022 Hello my wonderful Nomads, I had planned on making this announcement via a live post, but then I saw my face in the camera and changed my mind... so a Facebook post it is! As we all can attest, the last few weeks have hit hard. Individually, and collectively as families, we have each been effected differently.... For us? Its been tough, and we have realised how important family is, and how much we want to be close to them. And with that, heres our announcement - we have decided to move. We dont have an exact timeline set in place, but before the end of this year, Nomad will have moved on to its next location. This decision has not been easy, but Will and I both feel that it is right. We love you and our lives up here so very much, but we crave the nearness of family. 06.01.2022 Did you know that children as young as 10 years old are being sent to prison? This is happening here in Australia! And most of these children are indigenous. Approx 5.9% of the childrens population of Australia are indigenous, and they make up on average 53% of the kids in prison. And in the NT, its almost 100%! On average, they are 21 times more likely to be put behind bars then non indigenous kids! This is CRAZY! They are CHILDREN!!!... Following on from my #changetherecord post a few weeks ago, you might be wondering what you can do to stop so many Indigenous Aussies being locked up, and killed. Well, here is one thing you can do that could make a huge difference. Its time for the federal, state and territory governments to do whats right, and change the laws to raise the age, so children aged 10 to 13 years are not sent to prison.
