18.01.2022 Things I learned during a global pandemic. You can make a cake from quinoa! I know I was sceptical at first too, but then I did it and I am forever a changed woman. Heres how you turn that earthy little grain into a soft delicious, moist, yes, I said it, moist, chocolate cake that doesnt taste like quinoa. Ingredients; ... 2 cups cooked quinoa 1/2 almond milk 1 cup cocoa powder 3 eggs 3/4 cups melted butter ( slightly cooled) 3/4 cup brown sugar 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract 1 & 1/2 teaspoons of baking powder Method; Grease and line a cake pan Cook the quinoa and allow to cool. Melt the butter. In a blender combine quinoa, milk and melted butter. Blend for a good 3 minutes or until there is no more grains from the quinoa visible and the mix resembles a puree. Add in the eggs, vanilla, sugar, cocoa powder and baking powder and give a quick blend until all combined. Pour in the baking pan Pop into a moderate oven for 30-45mins Your cake is ready when a knife comes out clean Enjoy your cake while being amazed at your mad baking skills! See more

16.01.2022 DIY jasmine tea makeup remover & body scrub. Ive been playing around this afternoon with some DIY plant based beauty ideas. All made with ingredients you probably already have in the cupboard. I was pretty impressed with how well this makeup remover worked and how great it left my skin feeling and smelling afterwards. 09.01.2022 Zesty lemon cleaning bombs! How do we say this with out being crass... hmmm these are the kinda bombs you want to drop after you drop a bomb Fizzing fresh cleaning bombs that contain no NASTY chemicals are odour neutralising, zero waste and leave a fresh lemon scent! Great for stinky sinks, baths and toilets. ... Ingredients: 1 cup of bicarbonate soda 1/2 cup of citric acid 10-15 drops of lemon essential oils The zest of half a lemon 1/2 - 1 teaspoon of water Method: Mix the bi-carb and citric acid together in bowl with a whisk. Prep some small bath bomb moulds We used 4cm ones for these or you can use a ice cube tray or a mini muffin tin as a mould. On a plate zest half a lemon and pat dry with a clean tea towel With the whisk ready drop in the essential oils and mix continuously so the fizzing reaction doesnt start. Add in the zest and whisk together for about 30 seconds. Now keep whisking and add in the water a few drops at a time. You want to keep whisking as you add the water so the fizzy reaction doesnt start. Slowly add the water until the mix holds together in your hand (not quite wet sand ) the amount of water needed will depend on your oil, humidity in your home and the zest. Less is more with the water and if you need more go slowly. You can either mould them into full bombs or half bombs or push them into an ice cube tray and leave to set for a few hours. Then they are ready to use. Make sure to catch all the broken pieces and powder and pop it in a jar it all works the same! The perfect zero waste cleaner @ Nom Bulk Foods

06.01.2022 Have you seen these super cute little pumpkins on the veggie table in-store? We decided to turn one into a delicious roasted soup cup for one. Heres how we make our pumpkin soup. Do you have a favourite twist on this classic winter warmer? Ingredients: 1 mini pumpkin 1 med sweet potato... 1 tsp of crushed garlic 1 1/2 cups of veggie stock 1 tbs of sweet chill sauce Coriander paste & some chives to serve How to: Slice off the top the pumpkin (about 2cm from the top) Scoop out the seeds (compost or plant them) Scoop out the rest of the pumpkin and pop it onto an oiled baking tray When scooping leave about 1.5cm around the edge of the pumpkin to create a bowl and for stability. Peel and slice a sweet potato and put it onto the baking tray as well. Give the pumpkin a little rub with oil so it doesnt dry out Season with salt & pepper Then pop the tray with the pumpkin guts, sweet potato and pumpkin bowl into the oven for 30mins or until roasted. Once roasted pop into a pot with the garlic and stock and boiled for 10-15 mins. Whizz up using a bar mix Pour the soup back into the pumpkin bowl and serve with a dash of coriander paste and sprinkle with chives. This recipe makes one serve but can easily be doubled or tripled to serve more. See more
