20.01.2022 It was just one of those days where everything went right at Mawson Lakes parkrun. Out of the 6 guys and girls we met up with there, we had a total of 5 personal best results!! Justin (30sec Pram Course PB) Isaiah (3min30sec PB) Kim (1min 20sec PB)... Jess (5min PB) Amanda (30sec PB) parkrun Australia and parkrun in general has created an amazing opportunity where those simply looking for a means to get some added exercise have the ability to run the same event with the elite of the sport! It doesn't matter if you're a walker, jogger, runner or even if you'd like to bring your dog along for the journey, EVERYONE is welcome! It was roughly 6 years ago when my wife Sharmaine reluctantly joined in for her first parkrun event. Sharmaine despised running then, but now she's clocked up in excess of 220 events and feels guilty if she spends her Saturday morning doing anything else! If that doesn't give you an insight into just how addictive these community events are, nothing will! Come out and give it a go just the once and you'll understand what we're on about. #parkrun #parkrunaustralia

08.01.2022 Nothing frustrates us more than hearing a bad Personal Trainer experience! During the early 2000's it's fair to say that the image of Personal Trainers was dragged through the mud with reality TV shows like The Biggest Loser. Highlighting rapid weight loss with no real well fare for the contestants long term safety. Constant screaming at the contestants was labelled "encouragement" and "motivation", whilst their metabolism was being destroyed by the unrealistic training loa...d and the severely reduced food intake! One of the first concerns that our potential clients have is that we'll scream at them! It's also likely to be a big reason that many people in need won't ever make contact with a Trainer or attend a Gym. Trainers who don't prepare pre screening forms, don't listen to their clients needs/ wants, don't provide at the very least a warm up, tell clients to train through joint pain and don't educate their clients are really doing a disservice to the industry. It only takes one bad experience to destroy the faith of a person in need so we really need to step up as a whole and provide the service that gets long term results the sustainable way! There're plenty of fantastic trainer and businesses out there that are 100% dedicated to your health and fitness guys, so don't settle if you're unhappy! #findyourhappyplace

08.01.2022 This is Naomi Osaka! Naomi is a tennis player currently ranked 2nd in the world but currently making big waves for her off court approach. Naomi recently opted to skip all press conferences at the current French Open citing mental health longevity. She stated that the negativity that journalists bring with them when asking questions creates more harm than good and she's more than happy to pay whatever fine came her way ($19000aud). Having won her first round, opted against ...the press conference and paid her fine, Naomi has since pulled out of the French Open. Her reasoning? Depression! Something that she's suffered with for the last 3 years, most likely due to an "unfortunate" event during her first Grand Slam win at the US Open! We believe, and have posted several times about the detrimental affect that social media can have on us. We don't believe that carrying a media pass and chasing the next big story gives the media the right to mess with another persons mental state, no matter the scenario. This could be a pivotal moment when it comes to how tennis and other sports treat mental illness and hopefully it's treated with the utmost importance that it requires, but on such a big stage, we hope that it will generate a greater discussion within the general population as well! R U OK day is a great initiative, however some of the biggest supporters on the day are actually some of the biggest offenders for the rest of the year. Posting negatively online in a group forum about someone that you don't know is still bullying and it needs to stop! We've been on the receiving end and yes, negative thoughts creep in, whilst we found a way through, others haven't, we'd hate it if their decision was due to a keyboard warrior or a "comedian" trying to get a laugh at someone else's expense! We can do better guys

07.01.2022 ***Warning Sensitive but very much a topic that we need to talk about! Vinuri has given us permission to share a recent Instagram post in regards to Eating Disorders. It's long, it's real and it's something that a lot of boys but mainly girls and younger women struggle with, so please give it a read, a loved one may be exhibiting the same traits. 05.01.2022 We had a lot of fun (probably too much) running last nights Group PT session. We created the dreaded Pyramid session that only 2 clients in the last 6 years have successfully completed and watched as Rhia came within 50 squats of becoming no.3! Great job girls As of next week we’ll be running 2 nights of Group PT, so you can now join us on both Tuesday and Thursday nights at 6:30pm!

05.01.2022 With our Group PT sessions being capped at 12 and the overwhelming response we’ve received, we’re almost at capacity in only our 2nd week! With this in mind we’ll look to add another day during the week to help accomodate those who miss out on Tuesday and for those that might want a second session. We’ve penciled in Thursday’s as an option and will launch once we receive enough interest for that night. Small group sessions allow us to spend time on each individual client. I...t helps minimise the risk of injury and maximise your results! In the meantime, we still have a few spaces open for this coming Tuesday so if you’d like to come along, get in touch asap

05.01.2022 It's official! We're doubling our Group PT sessions by adding Thursday 6:30pm to our schedule. No more than 12 people per session so if you're keen on joining us, you know what to do ;)

04.01.2022 Was a tough run this morning! Too fast at the start and then the inevitable exhaustion midway through didn’t help our time but these things happen Being our last family parkrun for a while, we took our time when collecting Sharmaine and enjoyed the lst 2.5km! Highlight of the morning goes to whoever found Abbeys stray shoe the she left on the course and placed it back at the start. A huge thank you from the 3 of us!! ... Mawson Lakes parkrun

01.01.2022 We started working with Ash and his staff just over 2 and a half weeks ago. We make sure to ask how each of our clients are feeling both physically and mentally, even more so in the early days. Two of the boys announced that they’d lost 2.8kg and 0.5kg each and noticed a change in how they carried themselves! A great start to their journey and we expect that there’ll be plenty more to come
