25.01.2022 This may be of interest to some, just doing a bit of research for some upcoming meetings, and thought it would be a good idea to have a bit of a clue to what the rules are. The first part is about the risk of entering a closed area. The last part is taken from the National Parks and Wildlife Regulation 2009 under the National Parks and Wildlife Act 1974. It did not matter whether we saw flames, smoke, or just watched on physically disconnected through our digital devices, the...Continue reading

RE: RECOVERY WORKS CONTINUE After months of hard work (and some left-of-field disruptions such as Covid-19), National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) staff and local contractors have made fantastic progress accessing and rehabilitating roads, trails and camping areas heavily impacted by fires and floods earlier in the year. Continued impacts from flooding, heavy rain and strong wind events have meant we have had to return to many roads and trails, which had been finished, to re-clear fallen trees, and re-establish drains, culverts, surfaces and crossings. Our ongoing priority is to make all our facilities safe and serviceable for visitors before they are re-opened. Below is a snapshot of where our roadworks is currently at: Deua National Park 154 157 Monga National Park / 57 68 Monga SCA Biamanga National Park / 21 94 Murrah Flora Reserve Wadbilliga National Park 62 119 Kooraban National Park 59 30 Gulaga National Park 12 0 Deua, Monga, Biamanga, and Wadbilliga National Parks and Monga State Conservation Area and Murrah Flora Reserve still remain closed. However, our aim is to have these parks and reserves open to the public by 1st December 2020. NPWS staff would like to thank all our stakeholders for their continued support, patience and understanding during these difficult times. 11.01.2022 The symbols of our past should not be taken lightly, as such spirit is hard to find in todays selfish all about me society

10.01.2022 What are your plans for this weekend? The Black Diamond 4wd Club is at its club property repairing damage from the bushfires earlier in the year. The perfect mix, a little bit of work, and a whole lot of distance socializing around a very large campfire. Picture for jealousy reasons

09.01.2022 This is disappointing, hopefully, wont take to long to repair

09.01.2022 A little assistance was required, technically it is off road.

08.01.2022 Just looking at some stats on the old girl, Tasmania trip all up weight 3.4 tonnes (not towing) not bad for a 36-year-old vehicle, well 33-year-old at the time of the trip. might need to do the trip again to quantify the figures Average Economy Km/L 6.9km L/100km 14.5L Km/$ 5.17km... $/100km $19.34 Averages per Fill Distance 604km Litres 79.0L Cost $105.84 Travel Distance 5437 km Refills 10 Litres 790L Cost $1058.42 Min-Max Economy Km/L 5.8km - 7.5km L/100km 13.4L - 17.2L Km/$ 4.15km - 6.12km $/100km $16.33 - $24.10 Min-Max Fill Distance 324km - 841km Start/End Dates 03/01/2017 - 29/01/2017 See more

08.01.2022 This picture shows the size of some of the trees that needed to be removed from the club property, some were up to 40m tall. Beautiful trees 8 months ago but just didnt survive the bushfires and became dangerous, trunks of the trees hollow from being burnt from the inside out. Thank you to all members for the sterling effort, and we now have firewood for the next two years as an added bonus.

06.01.2022 Home & unpacked just need to wash a Hilux & camper trailer from a fabulous weekend. I am sure all who attended would like to thank JB John Blair for organising the weekend. The facilities & the area are 1st class. We were taken around on Saturday afternoon & Sunday morning for a drive around the off road tracks. Some if it was very interesting & a little squeeze. Also a big thank you to Andrew & Lesley for giving up their time to be our hosts & guides. Additionally the host club for allow to access their facilities.

06.01.2022 We need this guy down at The Digs.

06.01.2022 Taken today near Nerriga, the impact of the summer bushfires is still very evident and continues to have emotional and a financial toll on locals, this area one of the first areas hit by the bushfires and hasnt even started to show signs of regeneration.

06.01.2022 Super effort from members of NSW & ACT 4wd clubs, spent their weekend repairing the damaged Currawong campground caused by someone doing circle work and driving in restricted areas. Bollards and cabling installed, wheel ruts repaired and native grass seeded. Putting in bollards is not a favourite pastime but the alternative is permanent closure. We all have a role to play, its okay to report vandalism.

06.01.2022 Should be a great day. If your travelling through Nerriga stop in and have a look at the old school house museum. Anyone interested in having a stall please contact number on flyer. All types of stalls welcome from 2nd goods to farm produce. Braidwood Bugle Braidwood Times

05.01.2022 Maybe for the next Jamboree lol

04.01.2022 Now this is next level, even has a wine glass holder, should be handy for jeep owners

RE: SEVERE WEATHER CAUSES FLOOD DAMAGE AND TREE FALL Due to recent severe weather with heavy rain and damaging winds, there has been a significant amount of trees fallen throughout the parks impacting some roads, trails, and camping areas. Several parks still remain CLOSED following fires and floods earlier in the year. These parks include: Deua National Park Wadbilliga National Park Monga National Park Badja Swamps Nature Reserve Biamanga National Park Murrah Flora Reserve Substantial work has already been done repairing many of the roads, trails, bridges, and river crossings in these parks. The recent severe weather event has resulted in further flooding, tree fall, and damage to road surfaces. These parks remain closed until further notice. Closer to the coast, storm-strength winds and waves have caused significant damage to the coastline and low-lying areas adjacent to coastal lakes and lagoons may flood. There may be temporary closures whilst works are necessary to protect assets and infrastructure. Closures will be signposted on-site; please follow instructions on any signs you see. This information will also be posted on the website at www.nationalparks.nsw.gov.au Here youll find the most recent updates, safety alerts, park closures, access restrictions, and fire bans.
