24.01.2022 PIRATES HOME GAME FINALE - THIS FRIDAY NIGHT FROM 6PM - SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL PIRATE TEAM! Apologies for the late one but there have been some game and time changes beyond our control. Unfortunately Kawana U/9 Maroon have forfeited this weekend, so there will only be one game happening for U/9's this week. Otherwise, we have 4 big Friday night homes games (see schedule below) in what will be a great way for us to see out the season. We encourage everyone to get along and cheer t...heir Pirates' team along. 6.00pm - U/12 vs Kawana Grey (Field #1) 6.00pm - U/9 Blue vs Kawana White (Field #2) 6.45pm - U/16 Girls vs Gympie 8.00pm - U/18 vs Coolum Canteen and bar will be open with the NRL on the big screens. A reminder that while the clubhouse is open, alcoholic beverages cannot be taken onto the deck area until the last half of the U/18's game. Everyone is welcome to stay on after the game, enjoy a drink and discuss the season that was! Also Covid protocols are still in play. The club is extremely grateful and proud of the way that you have maintained this across the year - it has been exemplary. Just one more time! Please remember that presentation for U/6 to U/10 teams is still on this afternoon (today) from 5pm at Tewantin. Players and teams are to assemble on the field out the front of the clubhouse deck for speeches. Coaches and Managers can then direct players to some food and drink (and weather permitting), head over to the southern end of field #2 for their team's awards. Finally, don't forget to get along if at all possible, this Sunday for the Grand Final at Caloundra for our U/14 & U/16 teams. We wish them all the very best! Thanks again to all our wonderful sponsors, families, volunteers and supporters who continue to make this great club go round. Go Pirates! Aaarrrggghhh!

23.01.2022 TAKE A BOW PIRATE PEOPLE - YOU DESERVE IT! Thanks to all who purchased a ticket, donated and purchased prizes and helped support the inaugural NRL Grand Final Luncheon at Cooroy yesterday. In what has been a testing time for us all this year, you really showed everyone how to have a great time and how you can make lemonade out of lemons! It was a ripper of an afternoon (and evening) where you all helped raise over $10,000 for the club! Outstanding work!... Special mention to our event partners Saw & Mill Restaurant and Heads of Noosa Brewing Co. for nailing the food and bev. Also to our club sponsors & partners, Always Cool Air Conditioning & Refrigeration, SC Glass & Aluminium, Liam Anlezark - Stay Noosa Real Estate and Stay Noosa who continue to provide the most incredible support to our club in so many ways. Thanks to the team at Blink who delivered the AV/IT for the event which worked seamlessly. There will be more to come from them soon as they captured the fun and frivolity of the day. The day was made all the better too, thanks to the wonderful job of our MC Coffee Chats with Matt Collins who did an outstanding job in weaving us through the interviews and chats with Moses Mbye & Jake Friend (Tks guys again for your time & support). Thanks also to our 'in-house' guest Jason Hetherington who had us all in stitches, whilst at the same time giving us a great insight into the game and his experiences. And as some of us maybe nursing a little soreness from yesterday's big game, make sure that you all enjoy your Grand Final events and experiences with family and friends today, wherever they may be. And yes, someone is going to be $540 richer come the first try scorer this evening, plus a carton of beer from Heads of Noosa to boot! A final quick reminder for Presentation (U/11 to U/18 teams) at the Tewantin Clubhouse/Main Field this Friday night from 6pm. Then on Sunday morning at 10am it is the all-important AGM, where all current club members are encouraged to attend to appoint our elected officials for the upcoming 2021 season. Go Pirates!

21.01.2022 PIRATES SENIOR TRAINING REMINDER - 6PM START TONIGHT - Groyne Rock Wall at Main Beach. Bring runners, water bottle and towel. Will be fun. Tks.

21.01.2022 CONGRATULATIONS PIRATES U/14 & U/16 GRAND FINAL TEAMS A huge day yesterday & a big thank you to all at Rugby League Sunshine Coast and Caloundra Sharks Junior Rugby League Club for hosting a great event. Thanks to our supporters who ventured down south to support two of our best teams for 2020 in GF action.... For the U/14's it was a huge match where our boys just went down 25-24 in a Golden Point extra time thriller. The club is extremely proud of your amazing effort throughout the season and the way you represented the mighty blue and gold. You all did us very proud! To the U/16's it was an outstanding effort to take the Premiership honours 25-12. It wasn't until late in the back end of the final quarter that the result was locked away against a fast finishing opponent. A remarkable effort to be undefeated and a great way to end your junior year! To all our coaching and support staff, we again say a huge thanks for preparing the lads so well in getting to the big decider, in what has certainly been a memorable year and in many ways has been more challenging than a regular season. To the parents, carers, families, supporters and sponsors, we salute you! While there has been plenty of action on team Pages, due to the obvious reasons we can't publish photos others then those put up on the Rugby League Sunshine Coast website. So here are the ones we have to share. Go Pirates!

20.01.2022 PIRATES LUNCHEON - AUCTIONS & RAFFLE PRIZES - FIRST TRY SCORER CALCUTTA AT TEWANTIN CLUBHOUSE! If kicking back with friends and enjoying some footy talk over a few drinks isn't quite enough for you, then here's some other great ways to help boost the Pirates fortunes in 2021! The Pirates NRL Grand Final Luncheon will also feature a sensational range of auction, silent auction and raffles items on offer, with some outstanding bargains on offer for you to secure and help assist... the the club at the same time. These include an air-con system, electrical items, home renovation packages, holiday accommodation, plus an amazing range of vintage and new memorabilia and merchandise that can go straight to the pool room! For those who are unable to make the trek up to beautiful Cooroy, don't despair! Because from 4.30pm on Saturday afternoon, you can join us at the Pirates Clubhouse at Tewantin for the Pirates NRL Grand Final 'First Try Scorer Calcutta'. It's easy as! Either yourself (or a syndicate) can bid to purchase any player from #1 to #17 on either team and if they cross the line first during the NRL GF, then you get 50% of the prize pool. So if there is $2,000 in 'the pot', then you (or your team) get $1,000! Check out the form here. We look forward to seeing you at the Luncheon, or the Pirates Clubhouse from 4.30pm on Saturday afternoon. Dress is smart casual. Aaaarrrgggh!

19.01.2022 NRL GRAND FINAL LUNCHEON UPDATE - THIS SATURDAY OCTOBER 24 FROM 12 NOON! Firstly, a big thank you to everyone who has purchased a ticket and for supporting the club and this event, which will be a great afternoon of fun. We are locked and loaded and ready to set sail on the mighty Pirate ship! At a risk of using the C-word, I am going to have to blame 'Covid' for Moses unfortunately not being able to be at the event in-person. Moses booked his ticket about 8 wks ago after we ...locked in the event with him and we were very confident that restrictions would be lifted. With him also being part of the NRL bubble, we assumed that he would be allowed back into QLD with no risk of quarantine. Despite our enquiries and best efforts there is going to be no leeway on this one. Our apologies. However, Moses will be 'Zooming' in to join our event MC Matt Collins for the event, and we will now also have another special Noosa friend joining us online as well. Former Australian, NRL & QLD FOGS Jason 'Butch' Hetherington & David Shillington will be at the event in-person, along with many of the local Noosa 'legends'. Butch will be able to share a few yarns with us no doubt. So it will be an outstanding line-up for our inaugural luncheon. Importantly though, the food will be amazing and the beer cold, thanks to Heads of Noosa Brewing Co. and Saw & Mill Restaurant. Just a reminder, doors open at 12 noon and the drinks package and event starts at 12.30pm til 3.00pm. The beverage package will include Heads of Noosa tap beer, wine, bubbles, water & soft drink. Everyone is encouraged to stay around at the Saw & Mill til 4.00pm when we will then head back to the Pirates Clubhouse at Tewantin for the NRL GF Calcutta on the first try scorer. Two courtesy bus runs only will be in operation down to the Pirates clubhouse. So it might be a good idea to have a Plan B lift with family, friends or maybe share an Uber? The Tewantin clubhouse will open from 4.00pm and the Calcutta will commence at 5.30pm, and the format is easy. Either yourself or a syndicate get together and bid for the player (#1 to #17), that you think will be the first try scorer in the NRL Grand Final. If your player scores first, then you get 50% of 'the pot'. The other 50% of the pot goes to the club. So for example, if total bids for all players are $2,000, then the winner (first try scorer bid) gets a cool $1,000! So if you can't make the luncheon at Cooroy, then please try and catch up with everyone at the Tewantin clubhouse and make the Calcutta. have a great rest of the week. Go Pirates!

18.01.2022 Kristie Hart - $540!

17.01.2022 Pirates supporters, sponsors, players and guests got together for an afternoon of fun and frivolity, to raise a few $ for the club. Thanks to our MC Matt Collins and also Moses Mbye and Jake Friend for 'dropping in' online and to special guest Jason Hetherington for sharing some classic yarns as our special 'in-house' guest! Thanks to Matt & the team at Blink Photography & Videography for the great pics. More to come!

17.01.2022 Huge day Pirates! Outstanding work. So much fun! More to follow on our outstanding luncheon event tmrw but the Calcutta is set. Some lucky person will win $540 for the first try scorer. How good! Love ya work!

17.01.2022 REGEN NOOSA- A fabulous project for our community, and one that can demonstrate an all levels of government partnership. This incorporates our beloved Pirate P...ark,, home of the mighty Noosa Pirates Rugby League Club, undergoing a major rebuild to create a facility that incorporates sport, recreation and wellness, providing a ‘hub’ for all ages. The Master Plan is being completed by Noosa Council, and now I just need to go get those dollars to make it a reality!!! #mpcommitments #noosafirst #noosapirates #keepnoosaindependent #regenhub See more

16.01.2022 The wonders of modern technology, and good people Yesterday I hosted the sold out Noosa Pirates Rugby League Club Grand Final Luncheon. It has been a tough ...year for the Pirates. COVID put an end to the seniors’ competition before one tackle was even made and despite a valiant effort, their request to play in the Brisbane competition was denied. But if a disastrous 2020 had a lasting impact on the 100+ players, volunteers and fans in the room yesterday, they weren’t showing it. I was joined on the (virtual) stage by two former Noosa juniors and current NRL stars Moses Mbye (Tigers) and Jake Friend (Roosters) who echoed the Coast club’s passion and resilience. But it was the in-house special guest who stole the show. In between cigarette breaks, former Bulldogs, Qld and Test hooker Jason Hetherington had the crowd in stitches with his colourful anecdotes. None of which are fit to share here sadly. But there was one thing the current Qld Woman’s State of Origin coach said that stuck with me. When it comes to winning, team culture is everything. The people you hang around with will make you or break you. With that in mind, something tells me the Pirates are going to fair quite well next season Thanks to Pirates General Manager and Division 1 coach Brett Winkler for the invitation. You did a stellar job mate See more

We would like to welcome the following coaches onboard the mighty Pirate Ship in 2021. They will be ably supported by assistant coaches and team managers which we will announce as the season rolls out; U/16 - Paul Saunderson U/15 - Ashley Davis U/14 - Ben Christensen U/9 - Liam Anlezark U/6 - Scott Hooper As mentioned, there are still a number of coaching positions that are currently being finalised and we will update you on those, as they locked in. There are still some positions that are vacant (particularly in our younger teams), so we are keen to hear from you to take on this important and rewarding role in the club. Just email your details to [email protected] and we will be in touch to discuss further. Happy Christmas and Go Pirates!

04.01.2022 HEADS UP FOR HEADS OF NOOSA - GABS HOTTEST 100 BEERS! Following the latest award winning effort by Heads of Noosa Brewing Co. at the Indies (where medals are awarded by judges - FYI they landed 2 gold and 2 silver), it's now time for GABS Hottest 100 Australian Beers! This competition though is a pure popularity contest and it puts all beers on the same pedestal, regardless of style! So HoN needs some Pirate Power to help them climb up the list. Last year (their first year en...tering this competition) they placed No. 45 out of 100 beers, in ALL of Australia which was phenomenal! So this year they're really keen to keep that momentum going and hoping to better last year's result. HoN are a great supporter of the Pirates, so the least we can do is take a couple of minutes to help out. For the love of beer! Just head to https://qrco.de/bbrWmx and vote. You get 5 votes, please select all of their beers and put the Japanese Lager first. Cheers! Drink responsibly & Go Pirates!
