25.01.2022 We had 15 RESCUES at Noosa yesterday with a closed beach. If the beach is closed, trained lifeguards and lifesavers have thoroughly analysed the conditions to make it not fit for the public. If there are no red and yellow flags present, do NOT enter the water. We are here for your safety! 25.01.2022 Surf and water education was one of my favourite acitivies over competition week. We taught the students how to race in flags, paddle rescue boards, what the flags and signs mean on patrol, what equiptment we use and what uniforms we wear! The students from Labrador State School were so excited and it was infectious! Thank you to the school for bringing the students to Sea World, thank you Sea World for having us, and thank you to Surf Lifesaving Queensland for making this magic happen. 19.01.2022 Ross the Club President, Maggie a previous Nipper Captain and I spent yesterday interviewing U13 nippers for the Nipper Captain of 2018/19 season! I am very excited to announce the Captains and Deputy-Captains later today at the Nipper Presentations. 19.01.2022 Thanks @jopower_noosa! We had a remarkable afternoon with the social swim, BBQ and the One in a Billion Dance right outside our Surf Club on Friday. Everyone looked amazing in the dance and represented such an important cause: Women against Violence. I fully support and tip my hat to these strong, beautiful women and encourage others to participate in such powerful events. Mum and I are dancing in the Most Wuthering Heights Day Ever in July, which raises money for the Domest...ic Violence Crisis Service (keep an eye out!). The swim went super well! Although the seas were picking up, we all got a lovely exfoliating sand facial while riding the waves back in - thank you mother nature! Thank you so much for everyone that came! 16.01.2022 PULSE PROGRAM 2018 Had a great weekend with all these talented people, from whom I learnt so much from! Discussing patrol techniques and management was an incredible opportunity. Not only have I refined my lifesaving skills, but I have also made a whole new group of friends whom I can visit on patrol! What is the Pulse Program? It is an advanced lifesaving program held at the Maroochydore Surf Club that focuses on a scenario based learning environment. It will test partic...ipants to respond to high pressure medical incidents and encourage disscussion of patrol management. 12.01.2022 Yesterday there were flash rips, a strong current and a lot of swirling water. My team did a fantastic job watching the public, sitting on boards outside the swell and roving on the IRB, for anyone in trouble. We rescued this lady who had been swept out to sea in a flash rip. It was fast, my team deployed the IRB swiftly, and the patient was returned safely. Well done team! I am so proud of your commitment to surf lifesaving! #Repost @lifesavingsunshinecoast...
