24.01.2022 Did you know that foxes are one of the biggest threats to Hooded Plovers? That’s why, when Hooded Plover chicks hatched at Watson’s Gap, a beach where foxes are... a known problem, Green Adelaide, Hills and Fleurieu Landscape Board and Alexandrina Council staff, and Friends of the Hooded Plover Fleurieu Peninsula volunteers letterbox dropped local residents, seeking sightings and den locations. Information collected will help with fox control and hopefully, keeping our hoodies safe. Find out more about foxes and how you can help: https://bit.ly/3eQjS4S. The Hooded Plover program on the Adelaide and Fleurieu coastlines is jointly funded through Green Adelaide and the National Landcare Program. The project is jointly coordinated by Green Adelaide and BirdLife Australia, with local support from City of Onkaparinga, District Council of Yankalilla, City of Victor Harbor, Alexandrina Council, City of Marion, City of Holdfast Bay and City Of Charles Sturt. 17.01.2022 Have you seen a fox den at the beach or around the coastal dunes? If you have, please report it to your local council. Foxes are one of the biggest threats to H...ooded Plovers. Knowing where they live can help with fox control and hopefully, keeping our hoodies safe. Find out more about foxes: https://bit.ly/3leFZDG. If you’re heading to the beach this weekend, remember that you can also help Hooded Plovers by leashing your dog, keeping an eye out for Hooded Plover signs, walking along the wet sand and moving away quietly when you spot the hoodies. Spread the word! The Hooded Plover program on the Adelaide and Fleurieu coastlines is jointly funded through Green Adelaide and the National Landcare Program.
