25.01.2022 It's beginning to feel a lot like Pageant Time! Only 5 more sleeps to go! (There is still time to get your float nomination in). Thank you to the Yankalilla Community Op Shop for your donation allowing us to purchase these signs to give our community advance warning of our road closures!

22.01.2022 We are excited that this morning our blue honour line is being painted! The line is to help manage spectator safety and ensure a clear path for floats and entertainers. We would like to give a massive thank you to the District Council of Yankalilla for funding and organising this imporant safety measure.

06.01.2022 ***UPDATE*** At this stage, all the items have found homes. If anything changes we will let you all know. Thanks so much! Time has come to say goodbye to a couple of our local beloveds ... Our whale and pirate ship are looking for a new permanent home as they need to be moved on from their current location. Theses have been mended and repaired year after year and we think they have finally had their day. If no one in the community claims them, the end is inevitable. Please contact us ASAP if you’d like either of them or both! Pick up will need to be arranged. See more

06.01.2022 And on the 3rd day after Christmas they said Let there be lolly throwing! That’s right we are so excited (or is it the sugar rush) we have done a ‘back flip’ and will allow lolly throwing in this year’s pageant. While our intent is to keep everyone safe we don’t want to be a Grinch and ruin the fun. So if everyone pinky promises to do the following; the lollies can fly!... * All lollies are to be thrown behind the blue line * Spectators are to stay behind the blue line at all times even if you are tempted to cross the line to collect that sweet treat that may have fallen short * Pageant participants are to pick up any lollies on the pageant route and pass them to the crowd, so spectators don’t cross the blue line * Lollies are not to be thrown in a way that could hurt spectators GUESS WHAT . THERE IS STILL TIME TO NOMINATE TO ENTER THE PAGEANT! Love from your pageant’s little organising committee. x
