24.01.2022 Bowen Therapy can transform anxiety, depression, and release trauma, it is known to have many positive outcomes for various mental health issues. In the documen...tary, Jim Reed who suffered from extreme PTSD expresses how after the first session he walked out of the clinic euphoric. Within a few days his energy increasing, nightmares resolved, sleeping improved and his depression lifted. Indigenous elder and Bowen Therapist Janelle Brown had profound results with her own healing and is committed to taking Bowen to remote indigenous communities to help with mental health, trauma, and overall wellbeing. Tina Price Bowen Therapy instructor shares her incredible experience in the Philippines with her aid work after the last big natural typhoon disaster in 2013. She describes the ‘big smiles’ that she and her helpers received after individuals experienced the Bowen. Many expressed how relieved they felt as their shock and horror released and many returned queued up for more treatment. The number one thing that makes Bowen Therapy superior to other complementary therapies is that it quickly restores calm in a person. The first few moves on the lower back send a message to the brain, ‘the emergency is over’. As the treatment progresses the diaphragm releases allowing for more oxygen intake and deeper breathing. Gastric juices are released and the stomach may rumble resuming digestion because the emergency is now over. Muscle tension melts and the sedated body and sinks into the table able to fully relax. In this state, the body is now able to focus its attention on healing and doing what it innately knows to do. All those trillions of cells can start to communicate and get on with their special job. In this state, happy hormones are released by the endocrine system into the bloodstream, such as Dopamine, Serotonin, Oxytocin, and other endorphins. These hormones are neurotransmitters and play a major part in regulating emotions and mood, as well as sleep, appetite, digestion, learning, and memory. In summary, there is ‘huge potential’ for Bowen Therapy to be integrated with conventional treatments for mental health. To put it simply Bowen makes you feel GREAT and that’s a plus for everyone! The results of Bowen therapy on mental health are the testimonials from the clients we have interviewed. Individual treatment results may vary as no two bodies are the same.

16.01.2022 Dear Daniel We have today received an email response directly from Queensland Health advising: : Re: Clarification - Exclusion of Bowen Therapists from practicing during COVID-19... 'The business described is not listed on the current non-essential business direction and therefore would be permitted to operate.' "So it was a very short statement considering what it took to plead our case but the result is the same. Bowen Therapists in Queensland are now permitted to resume practice."

16.01.2022 Can you see the difference in this before and after?

13.01.2022 It was a tough day for dug today

13.01.2022 Experts concur that Bowen Therapy consistently has remarkable results because it works deeply to restore the communication network in the body. We learned that ...with advancements in medicine and quantum physics that the body is far more complex than the outdated western mechanical model. In particular, over the last ten years, there has been considerable interest in the fascia, the body's soft tissue matrix. Previously discarded and misunderstood by the medicals, it is now well established that fascia is the largest sensory organ in the body. This soft tissue forms a complex web surrounding every cell, all organs, muscles, bones, veins, lymphatic, and nerves. This dynamic organ creates our ‘internal ocean of liquid crystal’ that protects, hydrates, nourishes, and provides a means of communication. We could conclude that through the remarkable fascia the body works in ‘unity and maintains overall health’. These findings have been pivotal for the Bowen Therapy community, as we are now able to comprehend how the Bowen Technique impacts the body directly through the fascia. Considering this, you could say that Mr. Tom Bowen was way ahead of his time, a ‘fascial specialist’. Perhaps the fact that he was not medically trained gave him the advantage to think outside the normal paradigm. Many have described him as obsessed and consistently researching, he would regularly collect carcasses from the local abattoirs. It is likely that he was studying the soft tissue matrix, that we now know to be the foundation of his work! We would like to thank Barry Vartier, Christine Amman, Karen Hendrick, Georgi Ilchev, John Wilks, and Russell Sturgess. For sharing their wealth of knowledge and expertise.

12.01.2022 Yes, Bowen Therapy can help with any of these postural misalignments! Pain can stem from trauma, auto immune disorders, or most commonly, prolonged postural misalignments..

11.01.2022 High achievers such as Bear Grylls, use Bowen therapy regularly. In Bear Grylls' own words: With the slightest squiggle of her fingers, it felt like petrol was... being put back in my tank and I could feel all the stress seeping away. Stress is arguably one of the greatest causes of both mental and physical disease. Stress can block creativity, lower performance and vitality in all walks of life. Bowen therapy has been known to activate the parasympathetic state, which immediately relaxes the body and allows stress to seep away. When this happens the body is able to do what it does best and begin to heal itself. New science is suggesting that the greatest pharmacy known to man, exists within all of us. Bowen therapy can help to allow your body to activate its own magnificent natural healing power so that you can perform at your best, bring back vitality and feel more energised. Being a high achiever and adventurer, Bear Grylls needs to be in the best shape possible and having suffered severe back problems from a near-fatal parachute accident, he is now "hooked" on Bowen therapy and has it on a monthly basis. If can help this extreme adventurer, imagine what it will do for you!

07.01.2022 People often say that they don't know what is wrong with them, but after Bowen they feel incredible - It's not what we know that Bowen is helping, it's the things that we don't know that it's helping which is what makes this therapy so amazing. #ThePowerOfBowen

02.01.2022 Nothing beats fresh home grown vegetables, did you know that beetroot juice is the perfect accompaniment to your Bowen therapy treatment? When we perform the kidney procedure a great recommendation to assist the detoxification of the kidneys is beetroot juice. And if like us you grow your own, juice the stalks and leaves as well! This is very beneficial for the kidneys, remember your kidneys are your bodies filter and your adrenal glands are attached to the kidney which release cortisol (stress hormone) when under stress, excess cortisol can harm the body and increase blood acidity, Bowen and the kidney procedure can assist in helping the kidneys to function more effectively!

01.01.2022 Deep sleep with Bowen Therapy. After a stressful event in our community, I was struggling to sleep and after just one Bowen session my sleep pattern has returne...d to normal. According to the international sleep association and findings from in-depth WHO-SAG Study, sleep disorders is ‘an emerging global epidemic’. Inadequate sleep of either duration of quality is becoming more common effecting 33-45% of adults, and is increasingly more prevalent in adolescents. Insufficient sleep is a pervasive and prominent problem and greatly impacting quality of life. This ever growing health issue is often unrecognised and under-reported, having major consequences on overall public health and has high economic costs. Research shows that Insufficient sleep leads to derailment of body systems, leading to increased incidence of cardiovascular morbidity, increased chances of diabetes mellitus, obesity, derailment of cognitive functions, vehicular accidents, and increased accidents at workplaces. In the US reduced sleep duration has been linked to 7 of the 15 leading causes of death. The increased usage of smart phones and electronic devices is worsening the epidemic. Adolescents with insufficient sleep are likely to be overweight and may suffer from depressive symptoms. Extensive research has shown that, good sleep is vital to maintain good physical and mental health. Bowen Therapists and their patients have experienced positive changes in sleep within a few treatments. Many have noted, that they are waking up less in the night, sleeping more deeply, able to get to sleep faster, resolution of restless legs, waking up more refreshed, having more energy during the day and able to focus better. As a result patients are feeling an overwhelming improvement in wellbeing as a direct result of better sleep. In our film These Two Hands - Bowen Therapy Documentary, we feature Jim Reed an ex military who suffered from nightmares for years. After his second treatment his nightmares completely vanished, allowing him to enjoy peaceful sleep which has transformed his whole life. Additional tips for deeper sleep: Keep to a consistent sleep schedule Set bedtime to ensure 7 hours of sleep Don't go to bed unless you are sleepy Quality sleep best before 12:00pm Dim lights in the evening Make your bedroom quiet and relaxing Screens off at least 1 hours before bedtime Turn WIFI off when sleeping Don't eat large meals before bed and reduce liquid intake Reduce Caffeine intake during the day Avoid alcohol before bed Implement strategies to reduce stress like exercise, deep breathing and meditation Article by Helen Dobra Clarence Valley Bowen Therapy References: https://www.sleephealthfoundation.org.au//SleepHealthFound https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3397790/ https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6473877/ https://www.helpguide.org//sleep-problems-during-coronavir https://www.mja.com.au//2013/199/8/sleep-disorders-children
