12.01.2022 Earlier this week, a North-West paramedic was served at a Latrobe bakery when she realised she’d accidently jumped the queue. Upon realising, she immediately ap...ologised for pushing in. The man next in line said: You’re a paramedic, you’re entitled. She protested we’re no better than anyone else, but the man replied: You’re a paramedic, and you guys saved my life last year. He went on to say he’d had chest pain and had a heart attack in the ambulance on the way to Launceston. For me, paramedics are entitled to be looked after and served first, and for the rest of their days on earth. I will always step aside for you all. What a wonderful story, and we’re so happy this lovely man is here to tell it. It’s great to receive such positive feedback it makes a real difference to our day.

10.01.2022 A Commemorative Service was conducted by RSL Tasmania this morning at the Hobart Cenotaph. Unlike other years, due to the COVID-19 restrictions in place, un...fortunately we could not advertise the Service as a public event. However, we are grateful to those veterans, their families and other members of the public who still attended to pay their respects and remember. Placing of wreaths was led by Her Excellency, Professor, the Hon Kate Warner AC, Governor of Tasmania, followed by Federal Government representatives, The Hon Peter Gutwein MP, Premier of Tasmania, and other Tasmanian Government representatives. Wreaths were also placed by representatives of the Defence Force, Tasmania Police and 12 Ex Service Organizations. The Service concluded with a rendition of the famous Vera Lynn song "We'll Meet Again" sung by Musician Melanie Brown, accompanied by the Australian Army Band - Tasmania. RSL Tasmania acknowledges and is grateful for the support of all involved in today's Service.
