This week is international compost awareness week so we thought we would show you the journey your waste goes on once its received in our yard to become the high quality compost we supply.... . . Firstly we screen all material that is tipped off to ensure no contamination ends up in our compost, once we insure its clean it is processed through a horizontal grinder. Now we start cooking, as the green waste breaks down it generates heat so we ensure it gets plenty of moisture and continually turn the product to make sure everything is cooking evenly. This process takes in average 10-12 weeks until we can finally screen the material through our trommel to give you our gorgeous, nutrient rich soil conditioner . .
