21.01.2022 Liquid from broken #glowsticks in the eyes and mouth are the most common calls to the Poisons Centre on New Years Eve. Here is a reminder of what to do. Glowsti...ck liquid in the EYES causes an immediate burning, stinging sensation. Flush with running water for 15 minutes Let the eye rest for 30 minutes Do not use any eye drops or ointments. If symptoms persist after this rest period call the Poisons Centre on 131126. Glowstick liquid in the MOUTH in small amounts is very unlikely to cause any serious poisoning, but can cause a burning, stinging sensation in the mouth and throat. Give cold milk, ice cream or water to relieve the burning & stinging If symptoms persist call the Poisons Centre on 131126. Its interesting to see the wiggles guy saved because the facility had a defibrillator. No defib at that facility most likely he would have not survived - its that simple. For a couple of thousand dollars - workplaces can have the security knowing that they have the potential to save a life. ...You can not just hope that the ambulance is just around the corner. Its easy to operate and you can't make a mistake. If you don"'t have one a your work place, start asking the question "why not?
