24.01.2022 Dear Northcote High Community, The NHS Buildings committee has set up a Parliamentary e-petition, calling on the State Government to fund our Master Plan. We urge the school community, friends, families and neighbours to support the school by signing our petition (it is open to anyone who is a Victorian resident): https://www.parliament.vic.gov.au//view-e-p/details/12/281 Northcote High School is one of Victoria’s largest and best performing government schools. It currently... educates approximately 1860 students with enrolment projections showing a continued upward trajectory, but our school is facing a crisis of space and outdated facilities: Science facilities are outdated and one in four science classes happen outside of science-dedicated spaces. Our students have restricted access to the library due to overcrowding. At recess and lunch time a staff member stands at the door to monitor student access to the library as one student leaves, they can allow another to enter. Our students have only one class Physical Education (PE) class out of every six in our gym building. The school hall has significant structural issues The school yard has limited space available for students to play and socialise during recess and lunch. Most of the available space is taken up by demountable classrooms. Please consider signing the e-petition and sharing the link to help us build a better school and community hub for current and future generations of NHS students. The NHS Buildings Committee

23.01.2022 The Northcote High School community are delighted to receive funding to provide bike storage for our students. As a community that understands the benefits of an active life, and that is also committed to a more sustainable futures, we are so pleased that more students and staff will be able to ride to school and store their bikes safely. We are very grateful to the State government of Victoria for the grant.

23.01.2022 Today, for the first time in over several decades we held a whole school assembly. 2000 of us gathered on Merri Park. Importantly, we changed one of our House names from Batman to Cooper, and honoured past student, the Hon. John Cain, the 41st Premier of Victoria. We enjoyed wonderful musical performances from the choir and jazz orchestra, celebrated student leadership, the fantastic 2019 VCE and VCAL results, and discussed how we can become an even more inclusive school. So proud of Northcote High School today.

11.01.2022 DUX of 2020 With an ATAR of 98.15, a huge congratulations to Alice Brown as the DUX of Northcote High School in 2020. Alice was surprised but ecstatic with her score. Alice’s outstanding score means that she can get into her top preference of a Double Degree in Law/Arts at Monash University in Clayton.
