20.01.2022 The 2021 Jack Newton Junior Golf Golf squad will be having their first training weekend tomorrow and Sunday. The squad will be training at 9:30am tomorrow morning at the Tamworth Golf Club and will be playing in the competition after their training. Sunday the squad will be training from 8:30am #golf

20.01.2022 The Tamworth Services Club Rugby League squad will be coming together tomorrow for their first combined regional training session. All athletes across group 4, 19 and 21 will be coming to train in Tamworth for their session. #rugbyleague



19.01.2022 NIAS Inverell RSM Club AFL athlete Rory Cuddihy has been gaining some valuable experience playing on the field in Sydney. Rory recently had the honour of captaining his team and was also awarded with Player of the Match. Well done Rory!!

17.01.2022 Athlete Achievement Congratulations to NIAS Athletics program athlete Caleb Bettison on smashing out a national qualifier last weekend. Caleb competed at the NSW 3000m Championships in Homebush where he ran a 30 second personal best in the 3km. The national qualifying standard that Caleb had to reach was 9 minutes 20 seconds. 15.01.2022 Around the grounds this weekend were five of our sports training across the region. Our Tamworth Services Club Rugby League squad from the group 4 area had their second training session in Tamworth Friday afternoon. Saturday saw our Cycling NSW Cycling squad going on a group fitness ride, our Tamworth City Toyota Basketball squad had their last session for 2020 and our Jack Newton Junior Golf golf squad had their final training weekend. The Glen Innes Services Club Netball Squad trained on Sunday morning in Inverell at the Inverell Insports Arena.

The Glen Innes Services Club Netball squad increased their fitness levels as they trained together Sunday morning out at the Tamworth Sports Dome. ... 11.01.2022 Emily Wooster has come a long way since riding as an athlete in the NIAS Cycling program. In 2019 Wooster made her debut representing Australia in Canada at the XCO Mountain Bike World Championships! Wooster is currently studying at the University of New England, AU where she has been able to benefit from the NIAS/UNE Sporting scholarship available to only a few athletes that have come through the Academy and are studying with UNE. This award was introduced to the Academy back in 2012 and is donated by the generous team at the Telstra Store Tamworth. It recognises excellent communication and engagement via our Team App system with coaching staff and the academy over the program year. Being a different year in 2020, communication with the Academy also went beyond this during COVID-19 restrictions as programs were delivered onli...ne. The two athletes chosen for this award in 2020 went above and beyond in their communications with the Academy.
