01.01.2022 Vale, Vice Captain Bronte Way On Friday 3 July, we bid farewell to our friend and colleague, Vice Captain Bronte Way, aged 66. Bronte joined the Northern Territ...ory Fire and Rescue Service in July 1996 and served for 23 years with the Howard Springs Volunteer Fire Brigade. He was a well-respected Volunteer Training Officer and leader, and was awarded the National Medal and the 10 year Northern Territory Fire and Rescue Service Medal and subsequent 20 year Clasp. Bronte also recently re-joined the Northern Territory Emergency Service. Our thoughts and sympathies are with his wife Maxine, their son Lachlan and their stepdaughter Samantha. Bronte was a highly regarded member of the tri-service family and will be missed by all. A funeral service will be held at the Thorak Regional Cemetery at 9:30am on Thursday 9 July 2020. I acknowledge that Bronte’s passing is incredibly sad for members of our agency. We will support you in any way we can at this time, and should you feel the need, I encourage you to seek assistance from our Support and Wellbeing team and our Chaplains. On behalf of the Northern Territory Police, Fire and Emergency Services and the community in which he served, farewell and rest in peace. Jamie Chalker APM Commissioner and CEO
