21.01.2022 To All Senior Clubs. The NDCA Executive has been in discussion with Northern Suburbs Cricket Association (NSCA), during the offseason with a view to expanding the current Northern Cricket Union (NCU) turf competition to include an Astro Competition. The NCU is an amalgamated competition played on turf and involving teams from the NDCA and NSCA. The NCU has been successful in improving the standard of the turf competitions with new teams and players. These competitions ha...ve been played in good spirit with social ties formed across NDCA/ NSCA teams. It is hoped the expanded competition will consist of 6 grades, the Two existing turf grades plus 4 Astro Grades consisting between 6 and 8 teams. Teams will be graded on an ability basis similar to the current process used by the NDCA top grade its teams. Both Committees acknowledge that there are obviously some challenges especially in the area of travel. There will be no changes to games involving 2 NDCA teams - they will be played locally on existing NDCA grounds. For games involving both NDCA and Northern Suburb teams, games will be played (as far as possible) in a central corridor that would include grounds such as Tuckwell, Pidding Park ELS Hall1, North Ryde RSL, Meadowbank Sommerville and Epping Boys. It is envisaged that the expanded competition will provide stronger competition and allow more competitive games. It will also create stronger pathways for NDCA junior cricketers to play in a stronger senior NDCA/ NSCA 'astro turf' competition. The Structure of the competition will also change slightly, with plans for: the competition starting on xxx October (instead of the traditional starting date of the first week of September) a short preseason T20 competition (from 8th September prior to the traditional 2 days and 1 day format competition commences on the 6th October) the Grand final weekend being the 23rd and 24th of March 2019. We are aware that it is still early in the registration process but it would be appreciated f clubs could provide preliminary number to the Association by Thursday 9th August and Final numbers by 30th August. 20.01.2022 Congratulations to two former NDCA Representative players, Ethan and Fraser Garrett. Ethan has been named in the Volleyball NSW Under 17 team and younger brother Fraser has been named in the Under 17 reserve team. The Association wishes both players the best of luck at the National Championships in Brisbane in late September.

The NDCA has been one of the premier competitions in Sydney since 1908. We are excited about the new cricket season and are planning to improve all NDCA competitions this season and beyond. COMPETITION START DATES:... Competition will commence in NDCA Competitions on 16th September, whilst the Committee is exploring options for building on the success of the NCU competition, and trialling a new innovative competition format for 5th Grade including T20, One Day and Two Day Games. At the end of this season, the Executive will: * review the success of the 5th grade competition format based on player feedback * consider extending these changes to the competiton formats in other NDCA grades. 08.01.2022 Here is the draw (attached) for round 1 of the NDCA senior competition. All games are two day matches commencing at 1:00pm. The NDCA is holding our Captains night tonight at North Ryde RSL in the Pittwater room. There will be a short presentation on our playing conditions and the application of the new MCC rules. It should not take more than 1 hour, please ensure your Captains attend.

07.01.2022 ************ The North Ryde RSL Cricket Club would appreciate if all cricketers in the NCU could wear black arm bands this weekend and observe a minutes silence... in honour of the loss of one of our own, Ben Cordner. Bens mantra was, How Goods Cricket, and this is something that all of us can relate too. So it would be fitting if the minutes silence was followed by applause which will echo around the NCU grounds on Saturday in honour of our cricketing brother. Ben was a much loved and treasured member of our club who had represented through juniors and into seniors. In 2016 he toured to Sheffield with the club, which sparked a new passion for the game and everybody who was lucky enough to be part of this undefeated tour cherishes every moment of these 3 weeks together, playing and enjoying cricket and having some of the best days of our lives. ************ Saturday 9th Feb - All teams to wear black arm bands and have a minutes silence in honour of Ben Cordner.

05.01.2022 The Association is holding its annual general meeting on Wednesday 28th June at Dundas Sports & Recreation Club starting at 8:00pm. The meeting will be preceeded with a special general meeting to vote on the adoption of a new constitution. The special general meeting will commence at 7:45pm.
