23.01.2022 We dropped in to see Phil Barron Art 's "Portraits" exhibition at Keith 's in Murwillumbah last Saturday and - as we always do - really enjoyed it. Phil writes "My work is representational, it reflects my domestic and family life. In this exhibition, I am showing portraits painted over the past 5 years, from various studios or my home studio in Murwillumbah. I have had friends sit for me for a couple of hours each time over sometimes long periods. My sitters represented in... this exhibition include Tigger Newling, Peter Daly and Justin Ealand, Ruth Larkin, Julia Barron, my wife and partner, and my adult children, Noah and Tallulah. I have also painted from reproductions of classical painters Titian, El Greco and Giovanni Moroni. I love Art History and use the examples of renowned painters to influence my work. "These works are painted in oil-sticks or oil paint, on good quality heavyweight paper, canvas, board, belgian linen or masonite. I am a mostly self-taught artist, and have had exhibitions over the past 30 years, including exhibiting at Tweed Regional Gallery, Gallery Downtown, and M-Arts Murwillumbah. I hope you enjoy the exhibition". We certainly did :) It's up until the end of the month. @philbarronart www.philbarron.com.au [email protected]

18.01.2022 Well worth a listen. This year it was just crazy. "David Shoebridge was pulled over TWICE for drug testing while in Nimbin for the annual Mardi Grass festival. Here's what he had to say about why NSW Police insist on wasting taxpayer money testing for the mere presence of drugs, instead of testing for impairment"
