07.01.2022 Darwin - you can now recycle soft plastics into the NTRS co-mingled bins - how exciting!!! (please note this is NOT the council recycled bins yet). Many busines...ses in Darwin have these bins. Which plastics does the bin collect? The rule of thumb is: if the plastic can be scrunched up into a ball, it can be recycled. Examples of acceptable plastics include: * Bread, pasta and rice bags * Cereal box liners * Frozen food bags * Bubble wrap * Cling wrap * Confectionery bags * Fresh produce bags * Polypropylene bags * Plastic film from grocery items like nappies and toilet paper * Courier satchels * Newspaper and magazine wrap * Plastic bags from boutique/department stores * Large sheets of plastic that furniture comes wrapped in (cut into pieces the size of an A3 sheet of paper first) If don't have access to the NTRS co-mingled bins, there are three other drop off points: CDU Building Orange 8 between 08:00 4:21, (Monday to Friday) Shoal Bay Recycle Shop 08:00 5:00pm AND NTRS, 19 Pruen Road, Berrimah (after hours)
