We'd like to thank LJ Hooker Greenwith | Golden Grove | Mawson Lakes | Modbury for coming out to see us today

25.01.2022 We have come across this post from a great organisation and given the amount of amazing pyjama donations we received recently which have been donated to the Vinnie's Women's and Children's Crisis Centre, we thought our families and wider community may be able to help Backpacks 4 SA Kids INC. Please see their website for more information.

20.01.2022 Today in Preschool Educators used intentional teaching to build the children’s knowledge of Remembrance Day. The children listened to the story LEST WE FORGET, stood for a minutes silence, and spent some time in the Poppy garden thinking about all the people who keep us and our country safe

19.01.2022 The Babies have got themselves a new Pet! Everybody meet Squirt (previously known as Gerald). Squirt is enjoying interacting with our babies and swimming about his tank with lots to see! His previous owner was pleased to see him go to a new home where he will get lots of attention. Donna and Cheryl will be Squirt's main carers taking him home on weekends so that he doesn't have to be alone. We hope our families enjoy seeing him when they come into our room.

18.01.2022 There is nothing better than wearing your PJ's...except wearing them to Child Care! We have had a super fun week and the children, as always, have loved it. Each room also went above and beyond doing pyjama theme activities. We would also like to thank our families for the donations of pyjamas for the Vinnies Winter Appeal, we are beyond grateful for your generosity.

16.01.2022 Early Childhood Educator's Day is Wednesday 2nd September Each year Management and Admin plan a few fun things for them to show all the hard work and dedication they have to the children and their role is appreciated. We have also created this display board you would have noticed in the foyer. This is where we need your help. In the rooms and office counter is this butterfly template. We would love for you to write on there why you and/or your child loves their 'ECE' and have them decorate it. We know how much our parents appreciate our Educators through kind words and lovely gestures that are often given, but we have this one big day to show them just how loved they are.

16.01.2022 Thank you to all our families that helped us to celebrate Early Childhood Educators Day 2020! Our Educators work so hard to give our children a safe, happy, exciting place to spend their days it's been great to show them some appreciation and give them some fun of their own today. Management were kind enough to supply chocolate biscuits and a coffee/drinks voucher for every Educator, Admin organised a treasure hunt and a "Where's Jackie" game, many families dropped off some special gifts and thank you's as well. Best of all is our little book of butterflies taking flight in our foyer with messages of why our children love their Educators #LoveMyECE #earlychildhoodeducatorsday

08.01.2022 Pre Kindy have had the excitement of having some new Friends join them this week in the form of caterpillars. Educator Lynette kindly brought them in for children to discover, care for and see what happens when a caterpillar forms a cocoon. A habitat was created to ensure their needs were catered for and each morning children will have the opportunity to observe any changes that may have taken place. Children learn cause and effect and caring for living things while also discovering new language through nature discoveries.

06.01.2022 Pre Kindy celebrated National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Childrens Day last week with this years theme for Childrens Day 2020 We are the Elders of tomorrow, hear our voice The Elders are the holders of traditional knowledge, working to uphold the rights and improve the lives of all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. The Elders are often called upon to provide reassurance, comfort and hope, especially in times of uncertainty. It is important that all... Australians celebrate Children's Day. During group time a discussion was had to enable children to gain an understanding of this day while also extending on their current knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island cultures. To connect with this years theme Hear our voice children were voice recorded as they shouted Kaurna Land creating a sound wave. This was then drawn onto recycled cardboard to enable children to see what their united voice sounded like in drawn form. See more

05.01.2022 Mini Toddler children enjoyed dressing up in "bug masks" sewn by Educator Nina, with further assistance from Educator Ruth. The children expressed joyful giggles while looking at their peers who were wearing big masks too!

04.01.2022 Mini toddlers have been extending their interest in animals, to exploring farm animals. The children enjoyed doing some various pieces of art work, such as painting, drawing and some messy play too. They had so much fun exploring the shredded paper to find the farm animals. Lots of language skills were used by saying the names of the animals and the sounds they make. This was not just a language development and sensory activity but it turned out to be a very fun social experi...ence. As you can see the shredded paper was enjoyed by throwing it up into the air by the educator, the children laughed and laughed with excitement! Mini toddlers have been enjoying some different activities during this current theme of farm animals. We have been milking the cow. Educators filled a glove with a mixture of corn flour, paint and water. The children squeezed the glove to resemble milking a cow. So much fun was had by all. See more

02.01.2022 This week Pre Kindy celebrated Diwali The Festival of Lights. We have had parent input allowing us to hang Elephant chimes in our doorway and children have created lanterns to place on the window sill. LED candles are turned on to create light and a sense of belonging enabling children and staff a touch of home and culture. Educator Monika joined us in traditional dress and dancing to a well known Indian song. Children gain understanding of diversity and cultural beliefs through celebrations. Happy Diwali
