It is a time for the indigenous and non-indigenous people of Australia to come together to reflect on our shared history, shared struggles, and shared triumphs, and acknowledge that there is still work to do together. William Cooper, the founder of what is now called NAIDOC week, set the challenge to Christians that we should pray that all First Nations People know the gospel, that we become deeply aware of the issues they face, and that we lift up our First Nation brothers and sisters before the world.
