20.01.2022 JOIN OUR TEAM! | Kiosk Manager We are looking for a professional, team oriented and highly motivated individual to join our team at North Shore Country Club. You will play a key role connecting with customers to provide a high level of service to ensure its success. Your role will be to manage the North Shore Country Club Kiosk which is open mainly on weekends and serves both members and local residents. Your key responsibilities are:... - Undertaking food preparation and cooking activities - Undertaking stock-take and ordering of stock - Planning menus - Serving coffee - Maintaining high levels of cleanliness of the kiosk and surrounds - Managing one employee during busy periods - Handling cash, operating point of sale equipment and reconciling. Our ideal candidate has: - Previous experience working in the hospitality industry or in a café environment - Short order cooking skills (eg. kiosk food including pizza’s, burgers, chips, bacon/egg rolls etc) - Accredited Safe Food Handling Course or ability to obtain one - Business minded and cost conscious (plan menus, food shopping, staff rostering, recycling etc) - Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment - High level interpersonal and customer service skills - Excellent organisation and time management skills - Flexibility on working extra hours (eg. weekend functions which happen occasionally). This role is offered on a casual basis and is on average 15 hours per week. This may increase during busy periods in summer and decrease during inclement winter weather periods. We are willing to offer the position on a shared basis between two candidates who can work together to cover staffing. 20.01.2022 SAWATZKY CUP | Sunday 31st January This Sunday, NSCC will be hosting the inaugural Sawatzky Cup, run by the Northern Districts Tennis Association. The tournament will run on ALL courts from 8.30am until approximately 12.30pm. Semifinals and finals of this round-robin men's and women's doubles tournament will then take place on Courts 1 and 2 from 1pm. Matches should be concluded on ALL courts by 3.30pm at the latest, so regular social tennis will still be available this Sund...ay afternoon as usual. The tournament is named after former North Shore Country Club president and NDTA stalwart Ross Sawatzky, who sadly died aged just 48 almost a year to the day from hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis, a very rare disease. In accordance with the Sawatzky family's wishes, the tournament will raise funds for the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research. More than 50 competitors, including some of the top players in the NDTA competition, will be battling out for the trophies. So, please come down and cheer on the players. But wait...there's more! As well as our great kiosk being open for snacks, coffees and more from 8.30am until 2pm, a gold coin sausage sizzle will be held from around 4pm. Plus you can enter our FANTASTIC raffle with prizes including stays at Crown Resort, Seashells Resorts, an amazing automatic mechanical watch (valued at $700), $200 Gold Class movie vouchers, tennis racquets and much, much more. ALL raffle proceeds will be donated to The Perkins Institute. We will also have commemorative Sawatzky Cup stubby holders and shirts for sale. The WA Government has instructed a number of facilities will need to close in the Perth, Peel and South West regions, including but not limited to bars, clubs, gyms and indoor sporting venues as well as outdoor recreational facilities. Therefore effective from 6pm Sunday, NSCC club house and facilities are required to close and will not reopen until we are advised by the Government. In respect of playing any tennis we have also been instructed to cease, temporarily, all tennis and pickleball activity in Western Australia. These temporary measures, include all, club tennis activities, pickleball activities and coaching activities and we must cease any tennis operations immediately specifically: All tennis courts will be closed until further notice All tennis and pickleball programs and coaching will be cancelled All club, association, and social play be cancelled until further notice All public court hire bookings to cease Tennis West Leagues, competitions and tournaments scheduled within the lockdown period are postponed. To the WA Tennis Community, What a year it's been for everyone given the local, national and international challenges brought upon us by the COVID-19 pandemic. ... Despite WA fairing remarkably well, sadly we are not immune to the global impact of the virus which complicates the logistics of interstate and inbound international travel. As such, the many logistical challenges and uncertainties surrounding players travelling between states and territories and the difficulties imposed on player preparation, means the difficult decision has been made to host the entire 2021 Australian Summer of Tennis in Victoria. Locally this means that the 2021 ATP Cup Perth event at Perth Arena, will not go ahead as planned.
