14.01.2022 Meet 11yr old mini schnauzer Henricq. Henricq saw Dr. Richard Churcher and his team in March with Sick Sinus Syndrome causing mitral valve insufficiency. Initial treatment was to manage the condition medically with a sympathomimetic agent to see if a sustained increase in heart rate could be achieved. With the owner monitoring closely this was successful for the next three months. In June Henricq's condition progressed, the medication became ineffective and he presented wit...h lethargy and a slowing heart rate. The decision was made to implant a dual pacemaker to ensure synchronicity of contraction of the atria and ventricles . The procedure went smoothly and Henricq was home within 48hrs. Following post surgical rechecks we are happy to say that this bright and happy boy is doing great. Thank you to Henricq's family for allowing us to share his story. See more

14.01.2022 Though we may intend to over indulge over the festive season and our houses are filled with Christmas goodies for the family to share, some of these treats can be harmful/toxic to the furry members of the family. We would always recommend: 1. Feeding your cat or dog pet food only. 2. Advise visitors not to feed under the table. 3. Familiarise your family with the list below and check for other hazards around the home e.g decorations, floral arrangements and accessible bins.... If in doubt or in case of emergency please make your way directly to the hospital and where possible call to alert staff that you are on your way. We are open 24hrs over the festive period for emergency only consultations. *Please note this Facebook account is not manned 24hrs. All communication with our team for animal health issues should be made via phone or in person. www.northshorevet.com.au 02 9436 1213
