22.01.2022 Do you know all the places that accept Companion Card in WA? If you have a support worker to assist you with community access and social participation you may very well be eligible for a companion card. Means the support worker gets in free or with concession. 19.01.2022 BREAKING NEWS: Temporary COVID-19 Rules ending from 1 July NDIS Minister, Stuart Robert announced this morning that a number of the temporary measures introduced to support providers and participants through COVID-19 will be coming to an end from 1 July in what is being dubbed "the first stage of a post-coronavirus NDIS".... Changes from 1 July Removal of 10% COVID-19 loading on certain core and capacity building supports Return to standard short-term cancellation definition (ie. 2 clear business days) Medium Term Accommodation returned to original policy of 90 days (down from 180). Continuing until further notice Alternatives to face-to-face planning meetings Plan extensions for up to 24 months Flexible use of funds to purchase low cost assistive technology.

19.01.2022 Some big news: Western Australia will NOT transition to the NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Commission till December 1st 2020. -Transition to NDIS Commission deferred from July 1 to December 1, 2020 Focus on critical support issues during COVID-19 pandemic... -Current WA quality and safeguarding functions will continue until transition -$2 million to prepare the disability sector to meet Commission requirements If you have any questions on what this means for you.... please ask :)

11.01.2022 If you see or hear of any kind of physical or financial abuse, neglect or exploitation of a person with a disability do you know where to report it in WA? If you suspect something, should you report it? YES ! ... Where to? At the moment in WA we haven’t yet ‘rolled’ onto the National regulatory body the ‘Quality and Safeguarding Commission’. We will on December 1st 2020. This is where we will be able to report to. Until then YOU can and should report to HaDSCO.
