22.01.2022 My name is Emily, and much like my journey with my mental health, my artwork features a series of works. My artwork starts off as a blank canvas. Much like how we are born in the world, we are born with a pure soul, uninfluenced by anything. The second imagine is then of me now, in a black and white image. I chose black and white because I think it reflects accurately what it’s like to live with my mental illnesses. Very simply, it feels like there’s the good and the bad.... The next image, is then a small coloured image placed on the left side, the same as the black and white image. This is where the theme of Hope, Growth and Resilience starts to come in. The next few images, where my artwork begins to be painted in colour, you’ll notice that the black and white starts to fade and bright colours slowly replace. I have worked incredibly hard on myself over the last year to better my mental health and try to overcome the setbacks in my life. When I heard that one of the themes was Hope, this really made me smile. I have the word ‘Hope’ tattooed on my right wrist, because it has been such a significant influence in my recovery. I was once told by someone who has been through their own mental health journey, that hope stood for ‘Hold On; Pain Ends’ and this has really stuck with me. You can see in the last picture, that their is still some black and white left in my art work... That is because, I believe that I will always need to work on myself... I am human and life is a journey, full of ups and downs. Thankfully, I am now able to enjoy this roller coaster ride that I call life!

01.01.2022 - Ramsay helps to deliver Sydney’s mass COVID-19 vaccination hub A mass COVID-19 vaccination hub has opened at Sydney Olympic Park with Ramsay Health Care workers set to help administer up to 30,000 jabs each week. In its first two weeks of operation, the hub will deliver the Pfizer vaccinations to priority groups including healthcare workers, emergency service workers, quarantine and border workers and their households. ... From 24 May, the hub will complete approximately 5,000 vaccinations a day and will administer both the Pfizer the AstraZeneca vaccines in separate pods. Members of the general public aged 50 and over can register for the AstraZeneca Vaccine from Wednesday 12 May. Individuals aged 40-49 can now register their interest in receiving the Pfizer vaccine though the hub. Ramsay Health Care’s Chief Nurse, Dr Bernadette Eather, said the organisation was pleased to partner with the NSW Government to establish the mass vaccination hub, and congratulated NSW Health on the opening of the hub, which took 20 working days to complete. Our dedicated nurse immunisers, registered nurses and pharmacists will be among the hundreds of clinical staff on site at Sydney Olympic Park to help administer this very important vaccine rollout, Dr Eather said. We are still looking for more staff, especially registered nurses, to be part of the vaccine hub so if you’d like to be involved please get in touch with your manager for more information. I am also pleased to advise that all remaining Ramsay staff and doctors who have not received, or been scheduled to receive, their vaccination can now book into the mass vaccination hub. The sooner we have our staff vaccinated the safer they are and the safer our community is, so I encourage staff to book in for their jab as soon as possible, Dr Eather said. The COVID-19 vaccination hub will operate six days a week from 8am to 8pm.
