21.01.2022 So how are peoples power bill? there are a few things you can do to reduce your power bill but one of the the best is to change your lights to L.E.D. there are L.E.D equivalents for every light but the biggest change has come with down lights. if you have old halogen down lights then your wasting money on inefficient outdated lighting. halogen globes are usually 50 watts of power and produce a low amount of light in a narrow beam. The new L.E.D light fittings i prefer to use..., use only 10 watts of power and produce a large amount of light with a 90 degree spread of light, flooding your room with light and reducing dark areas throughout the house. with a white surround and a frosted cover over the L.E.D chip they blend into the ceiling perfectly. Also, because they don't have a gap around the globe, heat from your house doesn't get lost through the fitting, helping to keep your house and a more stable temperature. While halogen globes produce a large amount of heat just from being on, the new L.E.D fittings only get warm to the touch and are rated to have insulation covering them, making them much safer than halogen. Of course the L.E.D down lights are dimmable with appropriate dimmers and are available in a cool white light (similar to fluro globes) or warm white light (similar to halogen) and are available in 70mm or 90mm fittings. basically, L.E.D lights are cheaper, safer, more efficient and better looking than halogen. so with all the benefits of going green and using L.E.D, why wouldn't you. 18.01.2022 Hey guys, did you know that smoke alarms have an expiry date? Most smoke alarms only last for about 10 years before needing to be replaced, if you look on the back of your smoke alarm it should tell you the exp date, if it has passed or is nearing the end of its life you should replace it. While you're at it you should also check to see if the smoke alarm is hard wired. If not, the smoke alarm could fail when you need it most. 16.01.2022 Old, more dangerous and annoying to use fuse board up top New, safer and more convenient switchboard with circuit breakers and safety switches (R.C.D) down below. Circuit breakers and safety switches are much safer and easier to use than old fuses (they also look much nicer)

13.01.2022 Hi guys, do you know if you have safety switches installed in your switchboard? Safety switches are the best protection you have against electric shocks. Safety switches detect when power is not going to the right place (such as when you get shocked) and disconnect the power before any serious damage is done to the human body. Fuses and circuit breakers protect the cable from sustaining any damage but they do nothing to protect people. 05.01.2022 One of the best basic L.E.D downlights ive come across. now available in white or satin nickel. plastic body with a frosted cover, they blend in perfectly to the ceiling. at 10 watts of power they produce about 800 lumens of light, compared to halogen globes which are 50 watts and produce about 400 lumens of light. this makes the led downlight about 10 times more efficient than halogen and so much prettier
