24.01.2022 Hope you and your families have a relaxed holiday. Thanks to all your support over the year. We couldn’t do it without you. See you in 2021 to smash your next goal. #hypermobility #notjustbendy #EDS

23.01.2022 Good news. Woof woof.

23.01.2022 Many hypermobile kids (and adults) are sensory superheros. Meaning they have heightened senses - they can smell, hear and feel things more intensely that others. Socks and tags as well as different foods can be issues for those with tactile sensitivity. Perfume/deodorant, food and rubber for the smell sensitives and background noise for the hearing sensitive. Bright lights for visual sensitives. Different food textures and taste for taste sensory issues. Tell me what sensa...tion you are overwhelmed by. Personally I can’t stand deodorant, perfume, socks that leave an indent on my skin, tags, regular bras, pulling my hair back tightly and sudden noises. I am also very easy to scare!! What are your sensory annoyances? #EDS #notjustbendy #hypermobilitysyndrome #hypermobile #hypermobility #ehlersdanlos #ehlersdanlossyndrome #edsawareness

22.01.2022 Have you say in a proposed review to the ndis.

22.01.2022 At Not Just Bendy we are always searching for better braces. This one Sharon (our principal and physiotherapist) is wearing is called the Body Braid - Arm Braid. Although not suitable for everyone some with multi-directional shoulder instability have found this helpful especially to stabilize the shoulders during car travel. You can purchase these online or we have one you can try on in the practice.

20.01.2022 Interesting article discussing the links between hypermobility and relationship to autism. I see this in my home - anyone else?

20.01.2022 Pacing activity is hard especially on good days. Try to always leave something for tomorrow. If you monitor your activity on good days and don’t overdo it then more good days are likely to follow. Otherwise you will get stuck on the boom-bust energy roller coaster.

20.01.2022 Hip Pain Help is another business I am involved in with Dr Alison Grimaldi. Follow the link and sign up for a free resource on how to alter your walking to decrease hip pain.

17.01.2022 Lots of SIJ issues in hypermobility. I have found clinically that once we can have adequate muscle support to be able to shift weight normally from one leg to the other most posterior pelvic pain lessens significantly regardless of what alignment the pelvic is in. If you want to know more this article is aimed at professionals but might give you some insights into what a leading researcher in this field considers best practice.

17.01.2022 Home visits and telehealth are available.

17.01.2022 Hip and pelvic issues are present in most complex hypermobile individuals we see in clinic everyday. This blog post describes some simple but powerful things you can do with your walking technique to decrease your pain. https://hippainhelp.com/3-simple-strategies-to-reduce-hip-/

17.01.2022 Great blog post about how to alter the way you walk/run to decrease hip pain.

16.01.2022 Love the comics by Stickman. Insightful and often funny/wry look at Eds

15.01.2022 Finger sleeves made by the wonderful Nara are available to purchase from our clinic. Tiny little elastic supports to support tired fingers and thumb joints. Good for recovery following injury or subluxation. Different sizes available.

13.01.2022 Dysautonomia conference is online and open to health professionals, patients and carers. Agenda looks really interesting. https://dysautonomiainternational.salsalabs.org//index.htm

12.01.2022 Chloe is Not Just Bendy - she is an amazing artist. Please support this wonderful woman who remains joyful regardless of what life throws at her. If you have ever met her in the waiting room you will know what I mean ;)

11.01.2022 Some good simple advice for pelvic pain - aimed at pregnant women but useful for all.

11.01.2022 Jeannie Di Bon is on my wavelength with this post. Learning to let the pelvic floor muscles go is essential for reducing pain in multiple hip and pelvic areas. It is difficult to strengthen a muscle which is already in a stiffened state.

08.01.2022 Blog below by Not Just Bendy founder Sharon Hennessey on hip problems in hypermobility.

04.01.2022 Hmmm... I do not recommend this product.

03.01.2022 Interesting literature review from 2018 of the effects of sleep with Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS). Full article is available but it is a bit heavy - figure one is a good cheat sheet. https://www.autonomicneuroscience.com//S1566-070/fulltext
