18.01.2022 Are you in touch with your body? When I was in my 20's I didn't pay too much attention to what was going on with my body and monthly cycle, well not until we started thinking about starting a family. At 29 I had been on the OCP (oral contraceptive pill) for over 12 years and as far as I remembered everything was 'normal' (oh, apart from the crippling pain in those first few days, painfully sore breasts and hmm the irregularity and acne but that was a distant teenage mem...ory...right?) Just maybe I'd have to put some work in to get pregnant and correct a few things first that had been masked by the OCP.. I was lucky that acupunture helped to regulate my cycle after a few months and I fell pregnant naturally, but then miscarried 9 weeks later... I was one of the lucky ones though, before I turned 31, I had a beautiful baby girl in my arms. The point is this.. obviously I had physical signs and symptoms that had been masked for years by synthetic hormones and my body had been asking for attention. Until I was trying to get pregnant did I actually figure out that my body had been sending me messages, it was just inconvenient to listen. Now on my way to becoming a Naturopath do I really understand and connect the dots of female anatomy and reproduction. (And there is soooo much more to learn)! So I ask you the questions What is your body telling you? Are you ignoring signs that something is not quite right? Are you willing to take the time to tune into what your body needs? Maybe that looks like a dietary change, stress reduction or a different kind of contraceptive? Tune in and see what your body is telling you. #healthcoach #nourishhealthclinic #nutritioncoach #facialist #naturopathicmedicine #non-toxic #OCP #hormones See more

18.01.2022 Beautiful Eyes Eyes are often one of the main areas of concern with clients as they get older, especially as they are one of the first places to show signs of ageing. So what can we do to combat the fine lines and crepey skin around and under the eye? Let's talk hydration - or lack of...... Dehydration is one of the key factors in the eye area resulting in lines, creasing or crepey skin. This is why the following factors need to be addressed in your routine. 1. Are you hydrated? By hydrated I don't necessarily mean 8-12 glasses of water, even though the majority of the population are dehydrated! So yes, more water helps but get the most of of the water you do drink and add a pinch of Himalayan sea salt in your glass or water bottle. This helps your cells to absorb the water better, resulting in plumper, firmer skin. 2. Collagen - A little collagen each day helps with keeping the skin hydrated and plump. As we head towards 30+ adding in a little extra protein isn't a bad thing (Collagen is a protein that is broken down into amino acids then used in the body and skin). The idea is to support the skin to give it the opportunity to re-build the collagen structure underneath. 3. Do you moisturise or use an eye cream or serum? Using a targeted eye cream or serum in the eye area also helps, the skin around the eye is thinner and more fragile so using a specific eye cream is recommended. Use a small pin head on each ring finger and taps along the lower orbital bone and over the upper orbital bone under the eyebrow. Keep that body hydrated and you will notice a difference in your skin elasticity and firmness! #facialist #nourishhealthclinic #mosmanliving #mosman #vidaglow #collagen #crowsfeet #antiageing #sydney #naturopath Pic via Pinterest See more

13.01.2022 Let's talk about Vitamin A! This vitamin packs a powerful punch in skincare, with so many variations of vitamin A on the market it can be a little tricky to navigate which A is right for you. Also known as a Retinoid, they have been scientifically proven to get positive anti-ageing results on mature skin and improve acne. ... However, vitamin A products can peel and sting if not used correctly and they do make your skin more sensitive to the sun and pigmentation if the right steps are not taken. A few things to note: Most vitamin A's are for PM use only (due to the sun sensitivity factor) Don't use in the morning unless your product specifically says it is okay like a phyto-retinoid alternative (Bakuchiol) Always use sunscreen during the day when using a A containing product. Start with a low percentage retinoid and work your way up Remember the 3.2.1 rule - Week 1- use it every 3rd night, Week 2- use every second night and Week 3- use every night. If irritation occurs, scale it back to every second or third night till skin adjusts. Avoid the eyes and orbital bone. After 2 - 4 weeks of use, you should expect tighter, clearer looking skin and more hydration. 30+ is a good age to introduce a vitamin A into your night routine. You can shop these ones on my site - link in bio Cosmedix Define (Great to start on if you are new to A) Cosmedix Serum 16 (Great for more sensitive skins) Cosmedix Refine (a stronger formula if you want to take the next step up) Wildcrafted Organics Bakuchiol (fine for AM/PM & pregnancy, a gorgeous anti-ageing blend) Enjoy the glow! #mosmanliving #mosman #facialist #nourishhealthclinic #nourishskinclinic #skincareinfluencer #naturalbeauty See more

09.01.2022 I don't know about you, but I always find these last few weeks of winter the hardest! Personally I am not a fan of the cold and it's a time when we usually escape overseas to warm our bones and reenergise before coming back to the start of spring. This year has been tough on all of us, with negative and positives coming out of Covid and with no real end in sight, it has become more obvious that it is the little things that keep me feeling happy and positive. ... Every day I try to: Take some time for me Mediate Exercise or move off my chair! Call a friend or meet for lunch Give extra cuddles to my girls and hubby. Dance in the shower to loud music and laugh at myself! What have you noticed about this year and how you have dealt with the extra pressure and stress? If you feel down, reach out and connect with others and lift your spirit in some way to make it out of this winter, and remember that new beginnings and sunny days are just around the corner. 09.01.2022 VITAMIN B / NIACINAMIDE Vitamin B is a water soluble vitamin which is so important not only to our skin but internal health. 08.01.2022 ORGANIC BEAUTY OR NOT? As a long time lover and devotee of the 'best in beauty', I have come to realise the importance of using quality products on my skin. Prior to further educating myself and having my own health struggles, I would have bought into a marketing slogan or promise that one 'miracle' product or brand would change my skin. Let me tell you the truth so you can make an informed choice..... 1. THE QUALITY AND EFFICACY OF THE PRODUCTS YOU USE MATTER Don't buy cheap, bargain cosmetics or skincare and expect more than synthetic chemicals and ingredients that may do more harm than good. 2. BE AWARE OF MARKETING, big brands have a lot of money to spend on people targeting your insecurities and provide 'just the right' message to hit home so you buy their product. 3. BEAUTY IS AN INSIDE JOB, it is a mix of good genes (check out your mama) your diet and lifestyle. Do you use sunscreen? Do you eat sugar daily? Do you move your body daily? 4. IS YOUR GUT-SKIN AXIS HAPPY? This one gets me excited as a future Naturopath... so much more to come on this.. 5. ARE YOU HAPPY? We carry out emotions and stress (hello tight jaw!) in our faces. (Check out the Reverse or Sculptural Lift facial to address this) 6. QUALITY SKINCARE MATTERS - a point I'll stress again because the beauty market is saturated with choice. The right product choice matters to your overall skin function. Imagine finding the right balance for your skin to glow and get the results you want. If skincare confuses the * out of you, or you would like to book an mini facial or phone chat - Click the book now button in the bio. #skinhealth #skincareinfluencer #Facialist #sydneybeauty #Mosmanliving #Mosman #northshore #northernbeaches #sydney #skinobsessed Sent via @planoly #planoly

08.01.2022 It won't happen to me, right? I saw this quote a few weeks back and even though it is kind of confronting, it is true and I think sometimes we need to hear or see things that make us a bit uncomfortable. My MIL was dying of stage 4 cancer this time of year, 3 years ago, she was an amazing, kind person, but she wasn't healthy. She often put other's health and wellbeing before her own and as a result had health issues that began to surface years prior to actually getting real...ly sick from years of neglect. We all think, it won't happen to me (or her or him) but when it does, why does it always take us by such surprise? It always seems so unfair.. When we know better we do better right? Or not? Is changing a bad habit really so uncomfortable that we would sacrifice our health at an older age? Maybe not even old age, maybe your weight is increasing or your blood pressure or you feel tired all the time? The body is wise and gives us hints all the time when something is not right. What is your body telling you? Maybe seeing this today is your sign and if so, what are you going to do about it? #nutritioncoach #nourishhealthclinic #mosman #mosmanliving #skintherapist #postillnesssupport #cancer

07.01.2022 SWEAT IT OUT! One thing that keeps me going during these cold Winter months is an Infrared Sauna session a few times a month. The invisible waves of light, heat the body tissue and raise the core temperature from the inside out (rather than heating the air around it like a traditional sauna). This creates a 'false fever' which makes you sweat and eliminate toxins via the skin. ... Not only is is fabulous for detoxification, circulation and muscular aches and pains. It helps with inflammation, weight loss and makes your skin radiant. It definitely lifts my mood and I feel warm and glow for hours! I go to the team at @cryospaclinics, if you are game you could try a little cold therapy there too! #cryospaclinics #nourishhealthclinic #healthcoach #facialist #healthhacks #mosmanliving #mosman #skincareinfluencer #health #nutrition

They are satiating and increase bowel tone with a high fibre content- so great for any irregularity or bowel issues. They also help with blood sugar and are rich in calcium and iron.
