25.01.2022 ^ * THE FOUR PHASES * ^ Traditionally the moon phases match your menstrual cycle in the following way Menstrual phase = New moon Follicular phase = Waxing moon Ovulatory phase = Full moon... Luteal phase = Waning moon Each of these phases come with a different energy. 25.01.2022 ^ * HONOUR YOUR CYCLE * ^ There are two questions I am asked a lot 1. But my cycle doesn’t sync with the moon how can make this work for me? 2. I don't have my period how can I tune into my unique timing?... The answer for both is the moon is a guide to the energy of your phases. The emphasis on being YOUR phases. When you start tuning into your unique timing you may find that your body is not quite synced eg Bleed on the New Moon. And thats ok. Everyone’s body is different - that’s why this is your unique timing. What is interesting to understand is how to honour your cycle no matter if it matches up with the what is happening in the sky. If your cycle is absent or you are at a time in your life when you no longer menstruate, paying attention to your mood + energy levels in accordance to the moon phases will give you the insight to your unique timing + how to honour it. 24.01.2022 ^ * YOUR SUPERPOWER * ^ For so long I strove to be Superwoman - I really did have the ability to do it all. That was until I didn’t. Looking back I can now see it was because I wasn’t honouring my unique timing. I was very much living the 24 hour cycle of the sun, a cycle that fits with the masculine but not with our feminine. My body had been trying to tell me this for quite some time - hello period problems + PMS - but I wasn’t listening. When I began to pay attention to m...y energy levels + my mood in relation to the moon (when my cycle was absent) + my menstrual cycle, I have naturally begun to move in more of a steady flow towards my goals. I no longer need to be superwoman because being me is my superpower.

24.01.2022 ^ * DID YOU KNOW YOU HAVE YOUR OWN UNIQUE TIMING? * ^ Society is designed around a man’s cycle. This is a historical thing from the introduction of the working day when let’s face it, it was primarily men who went out + done the work, so life was designed around them. Now you could get all indigent about this but I think the best way forward is to work with what we have, whilst helping to change the future. This is why I like to teach women about their unique timing. Because ...not only is a woman’s timing different to a man’s, it can vary between women. So until now you may not have even realised that you had a unique timing, let alone any phases that needed to be attended to. That unique timing is linked with your menstrual cycle or the moon cycle if you have an absent cycle. It has probably been more a case of bleed for a few days and get back to it. But we do have phases. Each of these phases have a different energy to them - very much like the moon. Men work on solar cycles able to function the same way day in + day out - like the sun rises + falls each day. The lunar cycle spans a 28-30 period which is how us females function. These longer periods can influence everything from our energy to our productivity at work, our creativity, metabolism and even our immunity. 15.01.2022 http:// LISTEN + UNDERSTAND // Your body has it's own unique language. Teaching people how to listen to theirs is foundational to my approach. Stress is the most common driver of any condition I see. And from this diagram it is easy to see why. ... How often have you had one or many of these symptoms and simply kept soldiering on? Passed it off as 'normal' because those around you were also feeling the same? No judgement if you have. We all have. I did it for years. Ignoring each one of them. Eventually it caught up with me. And I see it catch up with each of my clients. So I invite you to save this post so you can begin to understand your bodies language. Next time your body tells you it’s stressed find a moment in your day to acknowledge this. Rather than being annoyed with your symptoms, thank your body for letting you know it's stressed. However rather than reaching for ‘junk food’ or treats that may not actually be a treat for the body, find something that soothes. ... My personal favourite is a cup of Chai Tea and on occasion a cookie to dunk (you can find cookies on my website) or a piece of dark chocolate. I often sit snuggled in a comfy chair or on my bed or take myself outside to sit on the ground. If you are feeling particularly wired or anxious I would also suggest a tea mediation whilst you are sipping on your tea - you can also find that over on the website, just search ‘tea mediation’. 11.01.2022 ^ * LEAKY GUT + FOOD ALLERGENS/INTOLERANCES * ^ Leaky gut is when the walls of your intestine begin to break down or seperate, creating little holes which allow large protein molecules to escape through and enter the body. Now because the body knows that these molecules are not meant to be on the outside of the gut the immune system sees them as an invader. ... What do you do with any invaders? You mount an attack. That is exactly what the immune system does. It mounts an attack on these protein molecules. Now the immune system is already on high alert, further overwhelming the immune system and further increasing the possibility of developing further allergies. Studies have shown that this permeability is decreased when low allergen diets are consumed. This is why it is important to identify any offending foods and remove them as soon as possible. Whilst this can be difficult, especially in children who don’t really understand, the removal of these foods and the restoration of the gut barrier will significantly prevent the development of further food allergies. The longer that gut wall is permeable the greater the risk of allergies. So it is super important to identify what these food triggers are. Not only to identify what the triggers are but to also avoid removing foods from the diet that don’t need to be restricted. If possible removing the offending foods for 6 to 12 months is advisable to allow their antibody levels to the foods to decrease to a level where the foods can be re-introduced. Working with a practitioner can also help with substitutes for the eliminated foods. Having personally battled through many dietary restraints I must say I am well versed the food swap area. I absolutely love food so when the list of foods I was reacting too kept increasing I was determined to find ways to still enjoy most of the foods I liked just without the ingredients that I knew weren’t good for my body at the time. #leakygut #foodallergies #foodintolerances

This is the wisdom of your body. When we try + bend ourselves into a timing that doesn’t align this leads to a depletion in energy, a feeling of being stuck + a disconnection with self.... Aligning with your unique timing can influence everything from your energy, to your work productivity, creativity, metabolism, immune health, and more. Looking to the lunar cycle will allow females to begin to understand this unique timing. For males the solar cycle will be your guide.

10.01.2022 ^ * INDIAN SPICED CASHEWS * ^ One of the questions I ask during my consults is Do you experience any cravings? One of the common answers to that question is chips/potato crisps. Like many of the questions I ask this helps me understand what it is your body might need. Carbs = energy. So a common reason as to why you may be craving a carby-style snack is due to a drop in blood sugar. The trick here is not to spike your blood sugar, otherwise you will have a hard time getting... off that rollercoaster. This is where cashews are a great alternative. Cashews have a higher carb content than other nuts but balance this out with a good dose of protein + healthy fats. These make the perfect choice when those savoury cravings hit. 06.01.2022 http:// SCENT // Did you know that our sense of smell is one of our strongest senses? Our olfactory nerve is linked directly to the part of our brain that links to memories and emotions. This is why we are 100 times more likely to remember something via smell than hearing or touch. ... Research has shown that we can have a 40% improvement in mood after smelling something we find pleasant. This is why scent should be part of your Stress Toolbox. Some suggestions - Essential oils: this could be calming ones like lavender, the comfort of rose or the uplifting smell of bergamot or citrus. - Candles: with scents that evoke an emotional hug. For me this is the warmth of Chai aromas. - Lotions: a double whammy here because you can give yourself a massage as well. I love giving my body a lathering of rose body lotion - Palo Santo: just the smallest whiff of this grounds me and helps clear stuck energy. I do want to say that the use of Palo Santo should be done with consideration. Choose sustainable sources from native suppliers. 06.01.2022 ^ * STRONG FOUNDATIONS * ^ Like a nice + sturdy house, having a strong, robust + healthy gut really is the foundation on which the rest of our health is built. And I’m not just talking about our microbiome or our stomach. I’m talking about the whole thing - the gastrointestinal (GIT) or digestive system. If this is not functioning optimally neither can any of your other body systems. ... All of our nutrients are first processed by our GIT system. It is connected to how you feel and function, how much fat you burn, your energy levels, the appearance of your skin, even your mood. When you have a GIT system working at it’s best, it’s like building a house on strong foundations.
