They say the project will destroy critically endangered ecological communities as well as a number of important Indigenous sites.

15.01.2022 NPA welcomes the expansion of the state's national parks, as the NSW environment minister, Matt Kean, formally gazetted 202,669 hectares of addtional national parks last week. The new national park land includes 153,682 hectares for the new Narriearra Caryapundy Swamp national park in the state’s far north-west. This is a significant step for protecting threatened species and habitat.

07.01.2022 Forestry operations in NSW bushfire-hit coastal regions will be reviewed in response to numerous EPA stop-work orders and investigations into breaches of burnt forest logging rules. Coastal communities have been dismayed at the logging of fire-affected habitat given the scale of disaster and its effect on threatened plants and animals, including koalas.

05.01.2022 We welcome NSW Environment Minister, Matt Kean’s renewed commitment to the expansion of national parks and reserves. Late last week Minister Kean announced the gazettal of Narriearra Caryapundy Swamp National Park, as well as additions to a further 12 reserves, and committed to adding at least 400,000 hectares of new reserves by 2022.
