25.01.2022 North Perth Primary School P&C is registered as a donation point for the recently launched container deposit scheme in Western Australia. There are two ways that families can help the P&C raise money through the scheme. The simplest way is to bring your eligible containers to school and drop them in the dedicated bin near Room 22. Alternatively, you can take your containers to a dedicated refund point and ask for your refund to go to the P&C by quoting our scheme ID C103060...43. Most aluminium, glass, plastic, steel and liquid paperboard drink containers between 150ml and 3L are eligible. Containers not accepted are glass bottles that have contained wine or spirits, cordial or syrup containers, plain milk containers, containers 1L or larger which have contained flavoured milk, pure fruit or vegetable juice. Check the website - https://www.containersforchange.com.au/wa/ for more information on eligible containers. If you’re bringing your containers to school there are a few guidelines that need to be followed: Please have your containers in a bag Please remove all lids (place them loose in the bottom of the bag of containers these can be recycled separately) Please ensure containers are clean Please leave labels on bottles Please do not crush/flatten containers this may render them ineligible. Please only bring containers during school hours as the bin will be locked outside of hours

20.01.2022 Second Hand Uniform Shop this Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon!! The P&C have helped many families in our community during the Co-Vid 19 disruption and would like to extend further support by announcing that Second Hand Uniforms will be made available to families FREE OF CHARGE for Term 2. Second hand uniforms will be available this Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon, May 19 and 20 from 245 315 on the school oval. We understand that families will be facing challenges relating t...o this upheaval for some time still and we are always looking at ways that our school community can build a better learning environment for our kids and support families. 19.01.2022 Do you have a spare iPad or similar device youd be happy to lend another NPPS family? The P&C is coordinating an effort to ensure all families have the IT equipment they need to support home learning at this time. A number of families have already borrowed equipment from the school. However, there may still be some in need.... If you have a spare device youd be happy to lend, please email Katie at [email protected] with the details. Similarly, if you would like to borrow a device, please email Katie with your needs. She will be happy to introduce you to a lender, if they are available, and leave it for you both to follow up on. This is one thing the P&C is doing to support our school community. We are giving some thought to how else we can assist, and are considering ideas like coordinating the donation of household goods or making meals for needy families, particularly the health workers in our parent body.

18.01.2022 Dear NPPS School Community This is an update on how the P&C is responding to the challenges presented by COVID-19. As a result of new social distancing requirements, the P&C general meeting scheduled for this Monday evening has been cancelled. No further general meetings will occur until further notice.... Instead, the P&C executive will be meeting online via Zoom. We will continue to meet regularly in this way to identify and coordinate what we can do to support the school community in the months ahead. All P&C members are automatically members of the executive. If you would like to join the P&C and participate in future Zoom executive meetings, please email me at [email protected] and Ill reply with details on how you can pay the $1 membership fee online. Weve got some difficult months ahead. Weve proven in the past how strong our school community is. Please come down to pick up quality second hand uniforms at $2 each and new items from our discontinued range ($10 - $15). CASH ONLY ... You may also drop off any unwanted, good presentation uniforms to us on the day. Please also note all NEW uniforms are to be purchased at our online store via the NPPS website and will be delivered to classrooms.

15.01.2022 Thanks to all NPPS teachers and staff who welcomed our children back this week. We appreciate everything you do for our school community. To help NPPS teachers and parents at, what is still, a challenging time, the school asks that we keep our children home if they are sick. Students that are unwell must not attend school. We must keep them at home and away from others. As usual, if our children appear to be unwell while at school, we will be contacted to collect them. We are reminded to please maintain physical distancing from other parents and teachers when attending school, including when dropping off and picking up our children.

They will learn all about creating movement, improvising and choreographing movement sequences.... Participants will work together as a group to create a dance piece that will be performed for the parents at the end of the last lesson. No previous dance experience required as this program will focus on creativity rather than technical skills.
