25.01.2022 Rink hours this long weekend
23.01.2022 IMPORTANT Our committee has met today and made some tough decisions. The first news is that due to the current COVID 19 threat, NQFSA will not be taking part in any fundraising BBQs until further notice. We feel we do not want to contribute to the possible spread of this virus and increase the risk posed to the vulnerable in our community. ... Secondly, we have been notified today that NQ Games 2020 has been cancelled. We are contacting everyone to organise refunds on entry fees. Lastly, we have decided, due to current events, the AGM scheduled for this Saturday is cancelled. An email will be come out to all our members shortly detailing this. While this is a challenging time for many of us, and events being cancelled is confusing and disappointing for the little ones, we would like to remind everyone to think of the vulnerable people around us and take care of each other. - Megan

14.01.2022 THURSDAY NIGHT SESSION NOTICE: Tonight is the last session in our 4 week trial. Due to consistent interest and successful sessions, Thursdays will continue - same place, same time! We are still ironing things out and it’s only going to get better, so thank you everyone for the support! Roman is keen to continue helping you all and he has provided some amazing off ice training videos - we will talk more about those tonight ... As many of you already know, the ongoing fee for the Thursday sessions will be $20 (starting next week 10/9). See you all tonight! Megan
14.01.2022 FIGURE SKATING COACHES WANTED North QLD Figure Skating Association is seeking Volunteer Coaches for Beginner Learn to Skate sessions on Saturday and Sunday mornings. Approved Coaches receive free entry to the rink to teach for the first hour, with the second hour free to work on their own skills. We can also assist coaches with training, providing you with a nationally recognised certificate. The club also provides character references for volunteer coaches. ... 12.01.2022 MEET ROMAN! Coming to our Thursday sessions! Due to the current travel restrictions, we will be live-streaming with Roman so he can see our skills and be able to provide professional guidance and education. ... Roman is a professional ice skater and ice skating coach from Russia. Throughout his 24-years’ skating career he has competed on a national level and he holds the title Master of Sports of Russia. Roman has been coaching skaters from beginner to elite levels. For the past 5 years he has been performing in ice skating shows around the world, including the UK, Germany and on Royal Caribbean cruise ships. 11.01.2022 The 2020 skate year is over and we went out with a bang! Everyone looked fabulous and we are all so proud We would like to thank Ken and Josh from Warrina Ice Rink for their support this year. Without them, we wouldn’t be able to have so much fun!! A huge thanks also goes to our coaches; Shandelle, Roman and Scott as well as everyone who supports our amazing club. ... Please stay safe, have a happy Christmas and we will see you all in 2021! Running 7 days 9:00am to 11:00am 11:30am to 1:30pm 2:00pm to 4:00pm Friday & Saturday Disco night session 7:00pm to 9:00pm : 15yrs & over $18 6 - 14 yrs $16 5yrs & under $10 Parent & Child (5yrs & under) $22 Tobogganing (6 slides) $5 No bookings necessary - just turn up to a session time. Remember to bring long socks. Due to insurance, all attendees will be required to sign a waiver. To save time, please print and sign prior. Waiver will also be supplied at the rink. School holiday sessions will be running from Saturday 19th September to Sunday 4th October. General session times resume Monday 5th October (closed Monday public holiday). 06.01.2022 ****ATTENTION ALL MEMBERS**** We are not letting 2020 beat us! We know you need time on the ice to yourself with no crowding. We know you're keen to get back out there! Earlier this year we set a goal to purchase ice time in 2020. With our momentum hampered earlier this year, you have all been waiting patiently for things to get back to normal, and we are excited to finally be able to announce some time on the ice exclusively for you! Starting Thursday August 13 we will be tr...ialling a new program for club members. Thursday Program: 5.15pm: We will have physical education teachers volunteering to run warm up drills/stretches for you. 6.00pm - 7.00pm: We hit the ice for a club only group session. Cost: $15.00. Our fundraising efforts will cover any additional costs. We are a small club and that comes with some challenges, however the club committee is keen to support you all and provide the time you need on the ice. This will be a trial so we can gauge interest levels and assess the success and financial aspects of the program. Please support our growing club by getting involved and coming along on Thursdays! 03.01.2022 Attention Skaters! Our training session this Thursday will kick off at 5.15pm the same way we did last week. Everyone is encouraged to bring a yoga/exercise mat/towel for the warm up session to really make sure you can get down and stretch properly - I have a sneaky feeling Jenni is going to start making the warm ups a wee bit tougher!! We will be keeping things virus-friendly and supplying antibacterial spray for the yoga mats so if anyone has spare mats, please feel free ...to bring them along.
