Illawarra, South Coast and parts of Hunter, Central Tablelands, Southern Tablelands and Snowy Mountains Forecast Districts. Issued at 10:15 pm Saturday, 8 February 2020. DANGEROUS CONDITIONS: VERY HEAVY RAIN, HIGH WINDS, LARGE WAVES AND TIDES HEAVY RAIN, which will likely cause FLASH FLOODING and RIVERINE FLOODING, is forecast for parts of the Northern Rivers, Mid North Coast, Hunter (including the Central Coast), Sydney Metropolitan, Illawarra and eastern parts of the Central Tablelands (including the Blue Mountains) districts tonight and Sunday. 23.01.2022 A message from NSW State Emergency Service Commissioner Carlene York on the COVID-19 Pandemic.

21.01.2022 Our thoughts and prayers are with the families, friends and colleagues of the firefighters that have tragically lost their lives overnight. The NSW Rural Fire S...ervice confirms that two NSW RFS volunteer firefighters have died tonight near Buxton, in south western Sydney. The deaths occurred following a vehicle rollover earlier this evening during firefighting operations. It is believed the vehicle, while travelling in convey, hit a tree before rolling off the road. Another three firefighters have received injuries as a result of the accident. The Service’s thoughts are with all the firefighter’s family, friends and fellow brigade members. This is an absolutely devastating event in what has already been an incredibly difficult day and fire season.

20.01.2022 Congratulations to all our members over the weekend for passing their 1st Aid and leadership fundamentals. Well done.

17.01.2022 The fires across NSW and the rest of AUSTRALIA are a true multi agency response.

17.01.2022 CHANGES IN SES PROCEDURES: COVID-19 Given the expected length of the COVID-19 emergency the NSW SES has changed our call taking and response procedures so our ...volunteers can stay safe whilst helping communities during storms and floods. In taking your call for emergency assistance we will ask if anyone at the property has flu-like symptoms or has been diagnosed with the COVID-19 virus. NSW SES will still respond to your request if you say yes to any or both of these questions. They will just use this information to use risk mitigation strategies so they can stay safe. While our NSW SES Response Team is traveling to your property they may contact you via mobile phone seeking pictures or videos of the damage to your home or business. NSW SES volunteers will maintain appropriate physical distancing whilst at your property and may need to communicate with you via mobile phone in some circumstances. We may also provide self- help advice so you can do temporary repairs to your own home or business. We will only do this if appropriate and safe to do so, given the circumstances and nature of the damage and actions required to make your property safe. We appreciate your support whilst we implement these important measures so we can continue to provide emergency services to the community while protecting the safety of our volunteers. For emergency assistance in storms and floods call NSW SES on 132 500.

15.01.2022 Summer is almost here! So, what's the outlook for DecemberFebruary? Summer days are likely to be warmer than average for most of the country. Nights... are also likely to be warmer than average, except in the southeast. Most of Australia is likely to experience a drier-than-average December, but from January the increased likelihood of drier-than-normal conditions contracts to the east of the country. Northern Western Australia may see wetter-than-usual conditions at times this wet season, particularly in early 2020. With a warm and dry outlook there is an increased risk of bushfires, heatwaves, drought, and dust for large parts of Australia this summer. 12.01.2022 IMPORTANT INFORMATION - NSW Bush Fires People with any respiratory issues or who are particularly vulnerable can be the first to feel the effects of smoke which... may aggravate their existing condition. Even healthy adults and children can be impacted by the effects of heavy smoke which can result in lung irritation. These conditions can have a serious impact on your health and it is important to remember that our bodies have to work extra hard to cope or cool down. Ensure you stay hydrated and pay particular attention to any symptoms (dizziness, headaches, racing pulse or nausea) of heat related illness. Be aware of potential hazards such as embers, falling debris, damage to surroundings and reduced visibility which can cause injury. Paramedics are urging people in fire affected areas to wear any form of eyewear and lose clothing to cover your skin to assist in reducing any incidental injury. NSW Ambulance recommends if anyone sustains any form of burn they should cool the affected area immediately with water ideally running water for a minimum of 20 minutes (for eyes ensure you flush the eye) and seek medical attention. We need people to really take care of themselves. If you have a pre-existing medical condition make sure you have all your medications with you and readily available at all times. NSW Ambulance is always here to help - never be afraid to call Triple Zero (000).
